Guest guest
Another thing I noticed was that via the book and tapes was able to re-write history -- as she saw it through her cognitively-distorted eyeballs. That's something our nadas were able to do (but with their mouths). And, the book ended up being a monumentally-sized distortion campaign by . Ho ho. Now, bring on Martha. - Edith otwoma wrote: > Yup. I noticed that too. Anytime she was asked a soul searching question, she didn't have an answer . Why do you think that was? I will venture to guess that Edith nailed that one. was doing good works for attention and to look really really good compared to her self-centered husband. Burying oneself in the cloak of good works is a habit of the BP. The thinking goes like this. " I can't be a evil or self-centered person because look at all that I do for others. " This is my BP pseudo friend to the max. She is working in the inner city schools and wearing the cloak of holier than thou. Take care. > Otwoma > > liquidsunsh wrote: > It was enlightening to see Pt 2 after the discussions following Pt 1. > > Did anyone catch the part where she was asked about her motivation for > charity work? Guest guest
<<Did anyone catch the part where she was asked about her motivation for charity work? She sort of laughed and said she didn't have anything else to do?>> Yes, when this was discussed last week, someone said that maybe you needed to be jaded or cynical to see that Princess 'used' her charity work to promote herself. I didn't respond then because I don't think you need to be either to accept that this is just the way it is - regardless of the celebrity involved. It was interesting to see that needed to be coached into giving the 'correct' response were she to be asked about her charity work. Once again in these tapes, Princess took responsibility for nothing. Everything was the fault of , or her in-laws. She even said that her therapist told her that her bulimia was all because of her husband. She said that asked if her supper was going to " reappear later, " which of course sounds cold, but as she said it, I could imagine that my husband in the same situation might finally lose his patience with me and say something like, " Why don't you just save some time and put your food in the toilet anyway since it'll be there in the next 20 minutes? " Whatever your opinions on Shy Di, these tapes and the subsequent book were very, very mean spirited to say the least. (Who hasn't had problems in their marriage and with their in-laws?) But to publicly write about the family into which you married, the same family that gave you the utmost privilege and status, knowing that millions of people would read it and that it would cause immeasurable damage to the family, was a very highly calculated move on 's part. She knew that she could never be seen as complicit in any of this which is why she had to carry out the project in secret. The enormously wealthy and very powerful people behind these publications had their own agenda and to a degree, played into their own hands under the guise of their " giving her a voice. " She was both manipulated and manipulative. .

" I also thought about this whole thing being possibly one of the biggest BP distortion campaigns ever! Or at least one of the most effective and well known, although maybe not well known AS a distortion campaign. Talk about a hoover! Her hoover is so strong it's still sucking years after her death and sucking TONS of people too! I watched the part where she was talking to her children (who were off camera) closely. She had this fake, creepy grin, then she turned towards the boys a couple of times and her expression was so different, she told them to " HUSH, " a couple of times. And then she'd turn back to the interviewer (who was I think a voice coach) and the fake, creepy smile reappeared instantly. It reminded me of when my nada would be full on raging, then the phone would ring and she'd be all " Hellooo? " All nice and normal as if she hadn't just been pulling her hair, cursing and spitting. Boy that would have been something to see doing THAT! lol Anyway, the whole thing was interesting to watch.

Cold is a good description. It wasn't horrible or mean, but it did seem " sharp " or cold. I thought they were being awfully well behaved too, considering their ages at the time and all the other stuff going on.
