Hello,

This is my first post to the group. I'm responding to the info re:

Milk and digestibility.

My undestanding is that RAW MILK is the way to go if you can get it.

I live in Alaska and we are able to buy raw milk by purchasing

a " share " of the cow. (The term is " condo cows " .) That way we

technically own part of the cow and are entitled to the milk. This

is a way around the problem that in most states it is illegal to

sell raw milk.

With modern processing equipment and cleanliness standards, this

issues of contaminated milk are not the same as they were years

ago. Pasteurization/homogenization eliminates the normal bacteria

in milk and turns one of nature's great foods into something that is

not really digestible by the human body anymore.

If you can't tolerate raw cow's milk, the option of fermentation -

yogurt, kefir etc. - is a good one, and you may also want to try raw

goat's milk if you can get that.

Sally Fallon's book " Nourishing Traditions " has a great discussion

about the benefits of Raw Milk.

I hope this helps!

BTW, I have really enjoyed being part of this group, everyone is

very helpful and positive!! It's nice to be a member of a user group

that is so dedicated to helping other people get healthy.
