Guest guest
Hi Everyone - It's been quite a while since I've written to the group. I guess I have felt like I haven't had much to contribute, because I have gained about 30lbs back over the last 4 years. Which I recently realized coincides with about the time I started drinking soda. Well, I realize I do need to participate more regularly. Over the last year or so I have had a horrible problem with MAJOR gas, infection, pain, and bathroom issues. It started following a reaction following a dental procedure last August. The doctors thought it was an infection and put me on antibiotics. OMG, what a mess!! I have been on 6-7 rounds of different antibiotics - I even had a period of time that my tongue was green. Everything I ate made me sick, gave me horrible gas and just made me sick. I have had to cut out so many foods. No bread of any kind, eggs, milk products, sugar, soda, etc. I must admit I crave chocolate and do have that some of the time - I have to be careful though. Regarding soda - I should have listened to Dr. K. - how many times I have heard him say - NO soda. I have been going to a gastro dr. in my area - he has been very helpful despite not dealing with that many weight loss surgery patients and I think I might be his only GR-DS patient. I finally decided I need to take it further - I am sooooooo tired. Tired of feeling awful and tired. SO, I went to see DR. K last week. He is pretty sure that I have a redundant colon. I will have a test on Monday so determine how bad it is. He said chances are 50/50 as to whether I will be able to continue to manage the symptoms through diet or if I'll have to have surgery. And, I could end up with a blockage or twisted colon at some point. If anyone has had this can you please share your experience? Thanks!
