Do you know about the one that meets at the PTC Library? THat is really a combination of Fayette and Coweta parents. I am in Coweta near Canongate Golf course. Where are you? Ther is so much time involvewd in running a support group that I think having a Fayette/Coweat group will work well for all of us.

Let me know what you are looking foa as I have an extensive library you can borrow from anytime. Also Clay is sarting an Autism Center in Newnan. It should open in a few weeks.

Hi , I would like to know about the support group in Fayetteville. I live in and can't find any support groups around here. Coweta Autism Group??

Is there an autism parent support group that is active in Coweta County? I already know about the one in Fayette, I'm interested in one in Coweta. If not, how would one go about starting one? Thanks,

I've been trying to get in touch with for a while. The Canary House webpage is gone, and she hasn't returned my phone calls (or my wife's emails). We assumed something happened. Do you have any other information?

Thanks,Mike

I've lived in mid Fayette County for over a year now, and I've figure

out who is meeting where.

For general information (monthly speaker topics) about what's going on

in the area meetings, I'd recommend going to the Exceptional OPS of

Fayette Co. meetings. Website www.exceptionalops.org. This month's

speaker is focusing on brain development and sounds like it's going to

be exciting. (And I'm not just saying that because I'm on the Executive

Board). Next month's meeting is on advocacy. Never a boring topic -

we've got state reps, state senators, and Dave Blanchard to talk about

how we make a difference in the lives of our kids simply by getting

involved in voicing our needs at the state level.

Another group that does general disability information is the Coweta

Supporters - I don't know the exact name of the group, I always call it

's group. Get on her email list by emailing her at

lpwilson@.... I think they meet at the high school near

Cannongate the Monday before the ExceptionalOPS meeting once a month.

For support/talk about my issues meetings , you've got a couple of

options -

Anjellica's group that meets in the basement of the PTC library once a

month - just know that group varies from month to month, and if you

show up on time and no one is there, hang out for up to a half hour for

someone to get there. If you face to face one on one time with

Anjellica, she knows A LOT about dietary and DAN! stuff. A LOT is an

understatement - bring a notebook or recoing device.

The Autism Southside Support Group in Clayton County. They meet once a

month at the Moose Lodge in boro, which is close to Southlake

Mall. These people like to TALK! and support. Get online on their Yahoo

Group at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/southsidesupport/

I have more to say, but I have to go.

Hello for all the information about the support group. I live north of Senoia on 16 highway. I know were the golf course is in Coweta county. I'm dating a man that lives in Newnan. I have 17 year old that has High Functioning Autism we were diagnose in January. It's been ruff for her and me. She feels that she is so different now. I try to tell her that she is the same person inside. It has been a struggle with her school this past year and this year. They don't know how to deal with her because they have never had a kid that was this old and never been diagnosed before. I feel like I have missed out on so much with her. I don't know were to start with her. With the diet I'm reading so much and hearing so much from families on here.

I'm just wondering what I should do next. I hope to hear from you soon. Re: Coweta Autism Group?? Do
