Vince, how do you keep bugs off your organic vegetables (I've always wanted to

do this).

Obviously there are still benefits after cooking, but not as many. If

someone is marketing a product, and the shelf life is important for their

profits, they are suspect when they try to disparage the home-made fresh

advantage. This reminds me of the whole pasteurized vs raw milk

controversy. Raw is far superior to pasteurized, but long shelf life

requires pasteurization.

I'll have my KT fresh and uncooked, thank you ;) That said, I understand

that when people are traveling or too busy to make their own they can enjoy

benefits from cooked KT or Kombucha drops, just like I enjoy benefits from

cooked vegetables when I don't have any raw.

Best Regards,

Vince

Kellie, my reaction is usually quite the same :-))

Hubbie and I saw a Kombucha product in the health shop last week,

VERY expensive, too. When we read 'pasteurised' on the bottle we remarked

out of one mouth, 'Oh no, that's dead!!', saying, how much we appreciated

having the real live stuff to drink at home for far less money!!

Yes, live Kombucha for me any day!

Companion planting, and where needed, natural 'pesticides' and

deterents, eg: garlic, rhubarb and soap spray. That sort of thing.
