Normal? or funded?

Respite Hours

Hi, I was wondering what is the normal amount of respite hours for a child that is school age?

Hi, I usually post from time to time. I have respite care and enhanced staffing that helps out with my son who is 12 yrs old. My respite care is only about 8 hrs a month and I have never really took advantage of it. But my enhanced staffing care is excellent Monday -Friday 4 PM- to midnight and Saturday and Sundays 8AM- Midnight. It took me about 5 yrs to receive the help that was needed. My son was hospitalized for 2 weeks and thats how I ended up getting in home assistance. I reside in Michigan.susister98 wrote: Hi, I was wondering what is the normal amount of respite hours for a child that is school age?

This is a hard question to answer. Not only do all the rules differ

in each state, but respite hours (in Ohio) are decided by each

county. We were never told how many hours we could use or not use.

Ours went by money $1500.00 for a fiscal year.
