Guest guest
This is for Jim Colello answered by wife, Jan Colello. Before the diagnosis of Parkinsons 11 years ago and before the dementia set in 4 years ago Jim's first symptoms were Restless Legs Syndrom diagnosed about 12 years ago. He went to several doctors and some told him it was in his head and finally one gave him a name for it and we attended a support group. He was sleep deprived and so was I, because of his anguish with this and no relief. He could not get any comfort when he sat down or layed down and would slap at his legs and now his arms too. It would go on all day, until he was put on Vicodin and that was a life saver for both of us to get sleep. Sleeping pills did not work for him and he was given several to try, they would still have an effect on him in the morning and he would be too groggy to function, but Vicodin does not make him groggy and deadens the movement in his legs. It is addicting, but of the two evils, it's the best solution that we have found for him yet and for sleep so far. --- Patti wrote: > Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) Questionnaire > The following seeks to find-out if you have the > disorder called > Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone had the burning that comes along with rls? My aunt has a sever case of it, and nothing helps it, the doctors have prescribed everything. She has had it since her early 30's, but got worse after developing Parkinsons a few years ago, and some one dr. said it was Lewy body.....but no doctor will agree 100% I just know she suffers daily because she can't take medication because she is so sensitive to it. As I write this she is in tears with her legs burning with restlessness to them. Any help would be appreciated.
