I just bought this Uk magazine because of its headline 'Why I cheated

fit club with a gastric band' This article tells the story of a woman

Anne Diamond who entered a contest called Celebrity Fit Club and had a

gastric band done to try to lose weight but failed to declare it. Anne

Diamond talks about her disapointment that after the surgery wasn't

working well for her... (perhaps she hadn't had any fills as she had

her surgery done in Belgium). Obviously she didn't learn much about

the effect of the surgery and that every person reacts differently,

some lose weight quickly and some slowly, it depends on the type of

bands, the fills and the metabolism of every person.

Anyway I wonder on the effect the article will have on people who are

exploring. There was a little insert that talks about a 22 year old

girl who died after eating some chicken because she had a Lapband!!!.

I think that will frighten any people thinking about this wonderful

surgery.

To compensate on the next page there are small articles by four

attractive women who had the lap band and lost alot of weight. Lets

hope that this encourages more people to take the plunge.
