i was talking to the exelon people and they said, a common side effect more

coommon in women is weight loss/loss of appetite . thought i would pass that

on,

fortuantely dad has good appetite still he eats 2 square meals a day, and

since he is prone to falls he has an in sulated mug of ice water at his bedside,

mug with handle easier for him to grip, i also ;'borrowed' some of those

plastic glasses they use at the hosptial with the rough feeling for easeir

gripping and dad uses those too. and i keep an assortment of snacks on his

nightstand, i buy the assortment pack of chips, and he loves those danish

butter

cookies in a tin, and he loves little debbie snacks so at any given time he has

a

wide assortment of snacks, he lost 30 lb in hosp, and so did i, i figure he

doesnt have much of a life left, so if the man wants to snack, let him, whats

it

gonna do shorten his life, well lewy is doing that anyway, may as well let

him enjoy waht ever he can , sharon m

a smile a day keeps the meanies away!!!

EXACTLY!!! In our case, there is an added reason to let my mom have sweets

if she wants them: this is a woman who spent YEARS obsessing about her

This is the way we felt about our mother. LBD had already robbed her of life

why should we rob her of the foods she enjoyed. She was border line diabetic

but we let her eat whatever she wanted. Couldn't see that it really was

making any difference.

Hi ,

I have to agree with you. I would make a terrible diabetic I am

afraid. I have always said so. I like my sweets, but yet I am not one

to overdo. I am not a candy bar junkie, but I enjoy cookies and

dessert. I love milkshakes and if it took that to get me to eat then

you are doing a wonderful job. I only have so many days on this earth

the same as everyone else. Each of us it may be different, but while

I am here as long as I don't overdo then give me what I please if

possible. I could get hooked on Hi protein drinks if they tasted good

and didn't have an aftertaste. I got a ways before that is a worry

though...Hugs...Patti
