I have 5 kids (two whom have moderate autism). I know it is a daily struggle for us. The only way I have kept my sanity is to focus on stimulating their intellect, and keep moving them forward. Over the past few years I've designed software programs to teach them basic functions, relationships, literal and figurative meaning of words. Using my programs helped reduce my boys anxiety, when we would need to go to the doctor, grocery store, barber, etc. Last year, I created the www.hiyah.net website that included all my programs I designed for my boys. This is my small contribution to other parents struggling to help their kids. It's free! Sara Re: Family of 6 ASD children featured in People magazine , The 5 oldest received shots, our youngest did not. She is the one who is the least affected. Not sure if that means anything but... After the People article came out Good Morning America had our story the week after. This link http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Parenting/story?id=4245377 & page=1 has the video of that story, brief written account and comments. Beware there are a few comments that will get your blood boiling, it did us. Kirton www.AutismBites.com >> > Wow, thanks for letting your story out.
