Guest guest
Judy, Thank you for replying to both 's and my posts. I really appreciate you sharing your experiences with OCD with all of us. I am still trying to learn about this disorder. I admit lately I have been concerned about our son's future. He is a senior in high school, but he has not been able to go to school at all this year. Fortunately he has been able to do the homebound program thru the school district and will be able to graduate in May (assuming he passes his classes this semester). Right now we really do not have much expectations about college. We were planning on him going to a local community college the first couple years anyway, but unless he makes some significant progress between now and this fall, college will have to be postponed. But we're OK with that; our main concern right now is seeing him improve. Hearing your experience gives us hope that with time and some maturity he will be able to " manage " it better. So, it might take him longer than most kids to get thru college, but I now feel better that it will happen some day. (Just means we can't kick him out of the house as soon as we hoped too lol ) Some days it's hard knowing that he will have to deal with this the rest of his life. But hearing your story and the stories from some of the other members of this group really does help. Thanks. I can imagine it has to be pretty hard trying to manage your own OCD and then on top of that having 2 kids with OCD. That has to be challenging. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
