Guest guest
My daughter has one and it is unbelievable! She got a reconditioned one. The Vitamix people sell them, but if you call, you can get the latest reconditioned model that they have. They threw in a lot of freebies with it too for her. She paid so much less than a " new " one. Her reconditioned one is brand new...no difference that we could see. The lady said that they do get returns, I think mostly because people just want the free trial to try it out, but don't want to really pay that much for a blender. So, they get returns. They are individually checked out, and have the same warranty as a new one. Do I sound like I want one? Oh, yes, really bad! Only two years to retirement age, probably many more than that to afford even a reconditioned Vitamix though! > > I have watched videos for 30 minutes and I know many of you have this item. Guest guest
Melody, a Vitamix is the SINGLE BEST purchase I have ever made. If you do decide on one, let me know-I have a contact who can get a better price than anywhere you will find online, and free shipping!  You would NOT regret the purchase! (and it would shoot you STRAIGHT from kindergarten to collage!) Guest guest
Melody, dear lady,  Either or I can point you to the owner of the Vitamix_Enthusiasts group who is a VM demonstrator and a wonderful person. She would be the one to speak with re. the purchase of a VM. You can sometimes get an excellent deal on eBay. Don't be afraid to buy a reconditioned one - they have the same 7-yr warranty as the " new " ones. Let or me know if you would like to get in touch with Lea Ann (the person I'm talking about). None of us who has a VM is willing to give it up - a truly great addition to your kitchen! Keep saving your pennies - once you use your very own Vitamix, you'll never again even think of what it cost. They really are the cat's pjs!  Peggy  To: sproutpeople Sent: Sunday, April 17, 2011 5:15 PM Subject: I am saving up to by a Vitamix  I have watched videos for 30 minutes and I know many of you have this item. Guest guest
We had a vita mix for 28 years before we replaced it with a new model. The old one still worked but we wanted a new one anyway! This did not sit on the counter looking pretty, it was used hard every year. Well worth the cost!! Guest guest
Yep, it's beginning to sound like the Vitamix is THE kitchen 'must-have' for anyone who wants to eat well with minimal fuss and muss!! Now here's the thing - we already have a professional bartender's blender - stainless steel and all that (but is really obnoxiously noisy) and I've got my (still new - in box) Magic Bullet. Is the Vitamix meant to replace both of them?? Also, I'll need to Google to see all the uses for the Vitamix - I know someone (perhaps you) mentioned making hot soups and then a couple of minutes later, making ice cream. Pretty cool, I must say! Guest guest
Yes, the Vitamix CAN replace pretty much everything, but I have lots of other gadgets, such as the Magic Bullet that I do use as well-not that I NEED them, but I am a gadget diva, and I find that many of them have perfect uses as well. The Vitamix can tackle many things beautifully, but if noise is a concern, then you don't want one-it does sound a bit like an airplane landing, lol. I don't mind it at all though-I throw in my ingredients for soup each day and go take a shower while it makes its racket, then I come back to a nice hot frothy soup! NO fuss, little mess!  I have cows, and I can make homemade butter from their milk in less than 30 seconds. Ice cream takes about 30 seconds too! Soup is hot in about 8 minutes. Also makes cheese sauce, gravy, etc. without lumps and without having to use a burner! Guest guest
Melody,          It does not mater, how long it takes you, the vitamix is the best kitchen tool, toy, everything all in one, get the newest model with the variable speed, that is the one that truly  does everything, I decided to get one it took me two years,it was well worth the time and the money, I make salad dressings, vegan chocolate, vegan mock cheese cake, home made pancake syrup or dessert topping,(for me grandson and me )out of our favorite fruits, and a little spice, and maybe a little stevia, or agave,or fresh jellies,or really fast fresh fruit or veggie soups, fresh tomato sauce, and I think it will grind or grate anything, that you can put in it, also various frozen desserts,I want to learn how to make what is called Bible sprout bread, I know how to sprout some things, but I have never commented before on here, I just read all the great info so I can learn, to be more healthy ! Get a vitamix when you can you will not regret it as long as you are willing to learn how to use it properly it can not be touched by any other piece of kitchen equipment !!!         Subject: I am saving up to by a Vitamix To: sproutpeople Date: Sunday, April 17, 2011, 8:15 PM  I have watched videos for 30 minutes and I know many of you have this item. This is the cats pajamas for me. Don't know which model. Don't know anything about it. But it seems to do everything. I am going to get one of these things if I have to wait years to do this. By the time I get one I'll be a little grayed hair old lady. lol
Guest guest
I can give you recipes for Bible sprout or Ezekial breads. I make them, but I use alternative gluten free flours. I love it. I researched and sweated the price and the difference between the two for a couple of years before I bought my Blendtec. But I have had it now for about 4 years and am very happy with my choice. Its sort of like choosing between a Mercedes and a BMW....both awesome ...but a personal choice. Guest guest
I pained over which one to buy because there are a few places like Starbucks and a raw foodist in Orlando (name escapes me right now)who gives wellness seminars that swear the Blentec is the one and only. I bought the VitaMix at a Home show because they had some sort of deal, much like the reconditioned price. My friend bought hers at Sam's Club and got a nice deal. At the time of purchase I extended my warranty to 10 years for not additional charge (another perk of buying it there). I suppose my bottom line reason for choosing a VitaMix over a Blentec was that I was able to hear more testimonials from those that I knew about the VitaMix . I would love to swap blenders for a week with someone so we could discover the differences in each machine without having to purchase both. Guest guest
I wouldn't say that the VitaMix is quiet... Jane > Yep, it's beginning to sound like the Vitamix is THE kitchen 'must- > have' for anyone who wants to eat well with minimal fuss and muss!! > Now here's the thing - we already have a professional bartender's > blender - stainless steel and all that (but is really obnoxiously > noisy) and I've got my (still new - in box) Magic Bullet. Is the > Vitamix meant to replace both of them?? Also, I'll need to Google > to see all the uses for the Vitamix - I know someone (perhaps you) > mentioned making hot soups and then a couple of minutes later, > making ice cream. Pretty cool, I must say!
Guest guest
great idea...to walk away from it...I am one of those that thinks I have to be right there in case something goes wrong...Maybe I can try your method. The frothy part of the hot soups is not something I like so I either spoon that off or I stir it in and wait a few minutes for it to settle Jane > Yes, the Vitamix CAN replace pretty much everything, but I have > lots of other gadgets, such as the Magic Bullet that I do use as > well-not that I NEED them, but I am a gadget diva, and I find that > many of them have perfect uses as well. The Vitamix can tackle > many things beautifully, but if noise is a concern, then you don't > want one-it does sound a bit like an airplane landing, lol. I don't > mind it at all though-I throw in my ingredients for soup each day > and go take a shower while it makes its racket, then I come back to > a nice hot frothy soup! NO fuss, little mess!
