Hi Caroline...Countess will do...hehe

Where do you live on the west coast? I did not grow up here either,

rather oustide of Houston.

Tell me more about the PT sessions. I see a PT, but I have stopped

until I can have more guidance on what types of exercises he should

be doing with me. Any ideas from any one on where to steer him to

design a program.

I also see a chiro and massage therapist. Again, I need guidance on

where to steer them for a proper program. I really want to get back

into seeing them.

> You just never know. We share 4 of the same letters in our first

name and both of us live on the west coast although I did not grow

up here. I just got back from PT for the first go round. This could

be interesting. She was talking about Louise so I think I will

go to the library to see if I can find her. I don't remember the

name of any of the books. My neck and shoulder feel much better

already. Rather than " stretching " out the muscles, she " scrunched "

them up so they can relax. Interesting but it worked so I don't care

about much else. Never had anyone do PT quite like she did. She also

says I need to do alergy testing as that could be a huge part of the

muscles being inflamed. Guess we will see.

the " top " lol. Wonder what title is just below Empress??? Anyone

know? She can be a resident in the Kingdom of CUS perhaps? We

already have a Dutchess, princess and Queen. What else is there? Oh,

I got it, she can be the Countess of CUS, how's that??? Chronically

unique but not quite Empress Status yet. LOL Will that do??? Smiles,

Melt,

Unfortunately I've had very bad experiences with UCLA and prefer not

to use them anymore--only if I have a firm recommendation to someone

(like I did recently for a cardiologist who was wonderful).

I do like my PT, I just want to help them design a programm. I

don't feel they have to already be versed in Still's, as long as we

design a progrm that is Still's oriented. and they are very willing

to learn and work with me. I've been seeing the PT, massage and

chiro for 2 years now and I really do love them.

Evening Empress!

That actually makes sense about the muscles being ON. My PT

stretches me, lightly (amazingly I am still very flexible though

I've not been able to have real exercise in 3.5 years) and while it

feels good, I don't think it helps me. So I get what you and your

PT are saying.

Keep us updated on progress and exercises and any good sources you

find on PT. I am lucky that my insurance covers my chiro, pt and

massage (billed as other PT), so i want to keep taking advantage

while I have it.

Question about massage...what type do most people find useful and

how deep. I am also an extremely knotty person -- the therapist is

always amazed at how knotted up I am just a mere week later -- but I

don't want her to be delaying progress by going too deep, etc.

Can I just say I am so happy I found you guys!

> Key to exercise here is to not HURT yourself. Don't overdo and

injure muscle. In my case, I gues stretching exercises are making

the problem worse. My muscles are switched ON and never OFF so we

are trying to undo that. Everyone has their own theory but if it

works, I don't really care what theory is behind it.

Umm my PT when released from the hospital gave great massages they did hurt, but wherever i was hurtin it at least seemed to move elsewhere. At least she wasnt agravating that spot cause it always helped, but hell if some other spot wouldnt hurt next week:).She did do a great job ive had a few other therapists who were ok but never compared,so yeah i think its very important and kind of a hit or miss thing with the Physical Therapists.Take care. d.Canada

Re: Cara O.T.

Only you would take the time to figure out that you and have four letters in your first name the same !!!! You and I have five with the first three being the same...... :o)

Now that's a different slant with your PT scrunching your muscles rather than stretching them. I'm interested on how it will work for you after a month or so. If it weren't so late, I'd have my hubby rub my shoulders as they are so tense today and my lower back. I've tried massages recently but it hurts more than feels good when I am touched at times so I've given those up for a while.

A storm should be here any minute so I shall go batten down our hatches. Thanks a whole bunch, Tricia and Randal aka Randa...... :o)
