Guest guest
Good Grief, ! Don't apologize for asking questions -- you wouldn't believe some of the questions we've seen here. Are you taking medication of any type? Some meds will constipate a person.also, are you getting any exercise at all? We have to both eat more (protein, protein, protein) and exercise. also, are you drinking the required amount of liquids? We need the liquid to keep the food moving though the body. keep your chin up. Other people on the board will have better suggestions, too, but do what Dr K tells you to do -- he is the only one with the " final " answers to the questions. ----- Original Message ----- From: trycurves It's all about BM's. I don't go much, I am eating a good amount of food and I still only going about ever three days or so. I'm sorry I have to ask question about this. I'm not losing wt. I only lose around 19lb in two months. I feel that I and doing something wrong. I have talk to my Dr. (at my one month check up) and he said I'm not going because I'm not eating, but now I'm eating a lot more. I know that I have not been eating very well; I have been eating pretty much what ever I wanted to. I have added fat to my diet and that's not helping. I think that I'm absorbing too much of my food and there for not losing wt. Can anyone help me I don't how to make myself have more movement (BM's). It's always been my luck that thing don't work the same for me as others. I just want my DS to work for me and I don't know what to do. Thank you, . I know that I personally use to go 5-7 times a day and was still a slow loser. Now at 6+ years out I still go 3-5 times a day. But the weight loss stopped and I have even gained. Soooo what I am saying is the " slow " weight loss may not be due to the lack of BMs, but just the way your body is going to lose. 19 lbs in two months is nothing to sneeze at. Dr K told me that he wanted me to lose an average of 10 lbs a month. Sounds like you are on track to me. If you want movement, have you tried fiber? Eat a bowl of raisin bran every morning. Cant do milk? Mix it with yogurt. It is good and will get you moving and provide a high amount of iron as a bonus! Also Ezekial bread gives you fiber and it is good and filling. What about fruits? Whole fruits give you fiber and vitamins and satisfy that sweet tooth we all have. I know at this point it is in small amounts and that is okay. Just do what you can. Upping your protein will help you lose faster. Add fat to that and you will have movements. I know that you are doing some of these things, so dont give up. Of course water....it goes without saying- drink plenty of fluids. At 2 months out you need to be sipping all the time. You didnt say how much you weighed or how much you have to lose. But our window of opportunity is 18 mos. If you are walking (and you should be) and eating protein first, drinking your water, relax, it will happen. Just think, if you lose 10 lbs a month for 12 months, that is 120 lbs gone!!!! hang in there it will happen, Sharon in Onyx from one slow loser to another
Guest guest
, Marta can comment on the " stop up " value of the meds you are on. I know that vicodin and also all iron supplements will put a cork in it so we have to use stool softeners. we are each so different; I would love to have your concert. I'm 5 years out and I go 15-30 times a day. just get that protein and water in. particularly since you are exercising so much, you really need both to keep a good balance. And for heaven's sake, DOUBLE your vitamins! Trust me. Guest guest
, Noone is going to judge you for being smaller than most on having the ds. I had health issues too that led me to having the ds so I completely understand. However, I don't have any advice about the bms. I am one who goes and goes and goes. I know someone suggested more fiber in your diet. I have been eating ezekial bread and ezekial cereal which is flourless and pure organic grains. It has a lot of fiber and helps to keep my tummy feeling good. Have you talked to Dr. K's office to see if there is a problem? Take care and I hope you get the issue resolved. --- trycurves wrote: > Hi everyone, > My name is and I haven't posted much on this > site. But, now I > need some help. I'm having a problem. Guest guest
Are you taking Iron? It's Constipating Are you taking your calcium? It's Constipating If you think this may be part of your problem, consider slowly adding Magnesium. Slowly increasing the amount until you find your personal sweet spot. Magnesium is needed to help with the absorption of Calcium so it could be a win/win situation. www.vitalady.com sells a Calcium that has a high amount of Magnesium in it. It may be a better choice of calcium for those that have a problem with constipation due to the Calcium. It is called Osteo Enhance Plus. Eat more fiber. Beans are a great protein/fiber food. Guest guest
Hey , I am a little behind, but are you taking magnesium at all? Look at your supplements for the answer to this.. You should be taking half as magnesium as calcium to keep things a moving. HTH Ginger <>< > > Hi everyone, > My name is and I haven't posted much on this site. But, now I > need some help.
