Guest guest
Hi Nic, Maree and Mel Thank you for responding to my post. Thanks also Mel for your kind words, by the way I was 133kgs on my doctor's scales at the time of the surgery. My post wasn't meant to be about me and my problem - I think I am processing that the way I process many things in my life. With questions, time, emotion - always lots of emotion, that's the nature of the beast. I was just putting out there the info that I received from the surgeon recently, as I was going over things. I was personally taken aback at those figures - 1 in 4 surgeries performed last year were repeat surgeries. Just food for thought and consideration. I also asked the questions and expected that I would need further surgery at some stage. However, it's not quite 3 years since I was banded and this will be my 2nd trip to the theatre since the original surgery. However, I'm resolved to undergoing the next procedure. And yes I am disappointed. I'm far from perfect Maree but you are right, I feel I have shown this band the respect it deserves and that, together with hospital anxiety and not knowing the outcome of the re-positioning/replacement causes me some angst. What would Normie say Que sera sera ... Thanks Lorraine > > > > > Lorraine, > > The first question I asked my surgeon was... Guest guest
Lorraine You are full of emotion - most obese people are, it is the nature of the beast! Even tho you were perhaps not intending it to be about you, I cant help but think that it was about you. I might be wrong completely, but I know for me personally everything I do and say about the band is always deeply personal. Every thought I have about it is precisely that, I wish it were not so. Some days I would like to be able to view it in a business like fashion, least amount of emotion attached but alas, it is not to be for me. On the flip side, I am dedicated and passionate about things that I do, so I guess it isn't so bad I just wish it wasn't so emotionally draining. You have always done your housekeeping; you know exactly what you are doing. Keep your chin up sweetie. I would love to give you a great big hug right now. Guest guest
Hey Lorraine, nothing like venting is there... And this place is great to do that. You can get it all off your chest, have a good old whinge and then your off again moving in the right direction. I hope you feel much better soon.
