Guest guest
Hi Jan, Sorry to hear about all the problems that you have gone through over the last couple of days. Caring for someone with all the ups and downs of this disease can be scary can't it? I'm with you I need a vacation too. Keeping you and Jim in my thoughts and prayers. Take care, Gwen Hi everyone, short note Hi All, Well, Jim had a seizure, something I hadn't experienced with him before. It scared me to death. He stiffened all over and his eyes went into a stare and he didn't blink or respond. I kept patting him on the back to get a response and he was totally rigid with no reaction. I thought he died and rigormortis set in, so I panicked, what a nutcase I am! He doesn't want CPR or anything to save his life, so I didn't feel for a pulse, because I knew if I didn't feel one I would instinctively give him CPR, so I called the paramedics. While I was on the phone I actually saw movement with Jim and let the person on the phone know that he was coming to, he had another seizure while I was waiting for the paramedics. They once again ran tests and gave him a CT Scan, but everything seemed okay, so he is home again. Next time, hopefully there isn't a next time, but I'll know what's happening and won't go into a panic. I NEED A VACATION! Guest guest
Hi ! I am so sorry for what you are going through. Are you sure it was a seizure ? My Dad did this from the Haldol - he went into these catatonic like states where he would just stare or his eyes would even be closed. One time this happened - even before the Haldol - and the paramedics didn't even know what was happening since all his vitals were fine. Unfortunately I think its a " symptom " of the LBD ! I hope you get and keep him homne ASAP HUGS Donna c/g Dad who passed April 14,2004 > > Hi All, > Well, Jim had a seizure, something I hadn't > experienced with him before. It scared me to death.
