Thanks for this tip Simmel. I thought that keeping your head up would help

too. Mom refused to swallow her pills for nearly a year now so we bought a

pill crusher at the pharmacy to help her out. I pour a little of her juice

in a spoon with her meds and I can usually get her to take her meds. Did

Liam have to eat this way too when the swallowing becomes an every day

problem?

Took him for testing and she told him to take one pill at a time and if they

were giving him a problem to lower his chin to his chest. It worked in spite

of the fact that I always thought one looked up to help this problem. We

both learned something!

No, fortunately or unfortunately he never reached that point; however the

therapist who we saw suggested this if things became more difficult. I cut

things into small pieces when it came time to eat...he could use a fork with

help...if it were finger food he would often eat his fingers as well as the

food.

Putting the crushed pills in a spoonful of applesauce, pudding or yogurt

also helps get them down. We had to do that for mom and now for dad.
