Guest guest Posted July 9, 2004 Report Share Posted July 9, 2004 hi all, dad hasnt had much change at all since on 2nd level of exelon. we noticed tho he cannot stomach spicy foods anymoer, but we dont think it is relevant to exelon becuase he had this problem before. so no fancy foods here, just plain old ordinary american food. lol dad is taking to grunting his repsonses more every day now, i told him i make him answer becuase i want him to be able to talk for as long as he can. i dont want him to get used to grunting to get what he wants. we have started cutting up his food now, hoping to keep him from stuffing hs mouth so full he chokes then vomits. he seems to want to eat more this way too. he is sleeping less at nite, nightmares and restless body, not just legs. and catnaps during day, but i take a napf rom 2-430 myself. with my meds, i sleep 2-3 hours up 2-3 hour etc around the clock dad also has taken not to wanting to answer his phone, he has his own phone line, i still see daddy slipping away from me, and he doesnt want to talk to me, he keeps ordereing me out of his room saying good bye gooo good bye gooo, so i do, so as not to aggravate him, sharon m a smile a day keeps the meanies away!!! I guess all we can do is help as much as we can...and rejoice the few " good " days. They seem to be getting fewer and farther between, at least for me. Guest guest Posted July 9, 2004 Report Share Posted July 9, 2004 gwen it is so hard, just dad, me and donnie adn of course the critters, 4 yorkies and 2 cats, but dad is so isolated, he doesnt even want to answer his phone anymore, i hate it, he has isolated himslef, the only time he lets me talk to him is when i need soething and he knows it, any other time he rushes me outof his room and gets agitated, i hate it. sigh lbd stinks, sharon m a smile a day keeps the meanies away!!! Dad also ordered me out of his room and I tried to leave him alone as much as he seemed to want but I also tried to pick some times when I thought it wouldn't aggravate him to try to talk to him so he wouldn't be so isolated since it was just him and me. Know that I am thinking about you and cyber hugs.
