Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelkinghttp://foggyrock.com/MyPage/recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=677063169 Re: VSL #3, casein/strep Not everyone's kids are affected by the trace amounts of casein found in products like VSL#3. Of course some are. That's why there is no one answer for anything. Sometimes when targeting a specific problem we have to weigh all the information equally and then decide what course of action to proceed with specific to your child only. The "strep" found in VSL#3 (streptococcus thermophilus) is beneficial bacteria, and has nothing to do with the harmful bacterial strains that cause things like strep throat, etc... This is caused by the "bad strep" strain of streptococcus pyogenes.> > Hi from Rei to Christel and our group,> > We are very excited to received our very first OAT test and finally it clarifys our thought that has been bothering us for years and years. Yes. My son has a bad, real bad yeast overgrowth. The strange thing is that my son has never had any GI problems, sleep through nights ever since he was born, good apepities all the time, but he has huge OCD, stimming and looks light weighed all the time( he eats a lot, but can't put on any weighs..)> So, all of this pedi in his life have never looked into yeast problem, until I joined this group and learned about so much on yeast overgrowth and DAN protocals...> Thank you Christel to refer me to Dr. B as well.> > I will not have an appointment to Dr. B for a while, plus we still wait on other several lab results. During the waiting period, I want to start to get yeast under control. I need to know what kind doesages on OLE you will recommend? My son has been on Nutribiotic GSE and OLE for 2 months, he only takes 250mg GSE per day and 300mg OLE per day. I dont think it is enough after i read the result. He has 240 valume on Arabinose ( normal is below 47), and 0.84 on 3-Oxglutaric ( normal is below 0.5)...> My son is 10 years old, weighs 68lbs ( he dropped weigh 4 lbs in the lasta 2 months).> > He also on probiotic 50 billion cfu at night.> > For high Oxalate, anybody has any suggestions or experience to share here, how to lower oxalate? Guest guest
Unfortunately I don't have insurance right now. So testing has been out of the question. But my husband starts a new job in two weeks so we will have coverage shortly. From the things i have read I think my son may be a mito kid. Poor guy seems to have every little side bar that comes with autism. I had been orally supplementing carnitine and did see results. I think this is part of the "mito cocktail" right? Now he gets it in the cream I use on him. (One less supp to take!) I think the OAT test shows mito disorder, right? What other testing would you recommend? I also feel both my kids are pandas kids. (All the strep they had in that short period.) I am going to try to get my daughter back on OLE. She hated the taste and started refusing it. It did help with her OCD symptoms and I am hoping it may help with the excited flap she still does occasionally. I think you do the ASO toters for that. any sugetions? Thanks,
