Hi ,

Good news that you are reducing your Pred.! I never had any mood swings when I was taking it or just maybe my family and friends were afraid to mention them in case I would have tried to strangle them or worse !! :o) Pretty soon you'll get rid of puffy and pimpley......then annoyed and so on down the list ! Make those small guys go back to their mine !

The whole month of April was the beginning of my "constant" usage of Prednisone. I was on it on a fast declining dosage in January, February and again in March but I did have short breaks during that time.

Initially, I was sleepless, incredibly moody and overall a major A****** to everyone who really matters to me. I have been able to fall asleep a little bit easier so long as Mr Massive Headache is nowhere to be found, and I have become much more like myself to my wife, kids and everyone else. One thing I have lost is my long fuse. It used to take someone hitting me (or trying to) to set me off. That is not always the case anymore. I don't know if it is due to the Prednisone, pain, or my aggressive nature combined with depression, but I have gone off more than I used to. Luckily, all of my anger was directed at people that asked for it, and never my wife or kids or family. I have a good friend that is an alcoholic. His drinking was never a problem to me before, but either he is drinking more or I am in no mood to see him at times as I literally dragged him from my house to his truck (I don't condone drinking and driving, BUT) two weeks ago when he wouldn't keep his voice down and my wife was trying to get the kids to sleep. I also snapped on an idiot on Sunday who felt he was so special he did not need to wait in line to launch his boat. He drove right around everyone in my bass club and proceeded to back his boat down the ramp, almost hitting my truck as I was preparing to launch. Well, he needs a new hat (his sunk) and he probably needs to find his pride. I asked him what he thought he was doing and he told me to get *****! I smacked his hat off of his head, threw it in the lake and dared him to take a shot at me (like I am in any condition for that) and embarrassed the heck out of him and his sidekick. I have a friend in our club I nicknamed GUNGHA, it just fits. He is a monsterous 6' 4 1/2" tall and 300 lbs. He saw the guy on the water a bit later and intentionally crossed his line, reeled it to his boat and cut the guys lure off. Needless to say there is one idiot who will most likely be a bit more considerate to everyone else he ever comes across on the water.

Sorry for wandering. In conclusion I have found Prednisone will aggravate ones' attitude.

Have a great day, Kirk.
