HI Kirk,

I sure hope you get to go to your fishing tournament. If you haven't heard back about your kidney test, I sure wouldn't worry much about it. "No new is good news" is what we say, right? I know that when I had a mammogram one year, there was a spot and they would not let me leave without another x-ray and then an ultra sound. Both turned out negative...whew....but I think if they were truly concerned about your spot, you would have heard back right away. I know it's hard for you not to think of it constantly. Is there any way you can call and get the results?

I hope you win first prize !

Kirk,

I forgot to ask you about Neurotin. You are taking it now? For some reason that rings a bell as to it being an anti-seizure medication. Am I wrong? I'm glad you came away from the pain center with such high hope. That's probably half of your getting better !!

Kirk; I've had great results with the neurontin for about five years now. Sometimes it does take a higher dose as I had to up mine to at least 900 mg for it to kick in but when it did I no longer have daily headaches and only a very rare migraine under stressful conditions like surgery or something. My best wishes for this outcome for you also. So glad you took things into your own hands. Melt

I went to the pain center today, and walked out impressed. I don't know if what this Dr. is trying will work or not, but he is familiar with Stills, and has treated numerous children with this. It felt good to know I am not in an unmapped land like I have been. I am thinking of getting all of my lab work together to give to him, if he'll take it.

He now has me on Neurotin, on an increasing dosage.

Kirk,

Glad to hear you are on your way to some great pain relief and found someone who is knowledgable about the stills and the headaches. Good luck and let's hope you get to go fishing this weekend.

He now has me on Neurotin, on an increasing dosage. He says it should stop the headaches in time. He also is trying to get insurance approval for Botox injections, as he says these may very well negate my headaches. There are no guarantees, but just the way this guy presented himself and spoke gave me some hope.

Now I just have to hope and pray that it works. I also am praying that when I go to my PCP tomorrow that I will be able to go on my club's bass fishing weekend!! If you see an email from me before Sunday night, I didn't get to go. I don't even want to think of that, as I know what kind of a miserable SOB I will be should that happen. I am almost hoping that there is no news on my kidney, as I can not believe it would be good if there were. Now if I could only stop thinking about it.......
