Night Terrors

Hate to sound weird , but 11 years ago my child's continued night fears

were from the spirit world. At two he was describing a mans head on a horses

body jumping on him at night. He is now fourteen and talks freely about our

haunted house and the thing that jumped on him at night. We prayed, we

fasted, we got a good grip on these things in this house, yet it was hard.

We were glad when we moved and he had no further trouble. We did however

find the new owners having problems. Sorry not the answer you would like,

but a realistic option. Another option is....I have trouble sleeping when I

eat pork or products with MSG.

Not really but I believe it. I had terrible middle of the night anxiety

when I had the parasites. Black walnut hull, cloves and wormwood helped.

Whew! You are right, now the answer I'd hoped for! From what I have read so

far, dark figures are seen. During one of hers she asked " what's it going

to do? " . Last night we prayed about it and she slept fine. I will

continue praying and seeing what happens. Thanks!

My niece also has night terrors, nds. She screams and she also does not

remember the next day. She is 6 yrs. old and has had them for about 3 years.

Hi ,

My oldest daughter, lese (non-ds) had the night terrors awful!! She is

now 11 1/2 and hasn't had them in years. From what I understand, the kids

don't even remember them. (I have asked lese and she has no recolection

and finds it funny)we are the ones who really go thru the terror!

There is nothing you can do, just hold . lese stop them by the

time she was 4-5ish.

they were awful. We read a good book, I cant remember the name as its

been so long ago, about various sleep problems which we found helpful.

It was blue and the man's name started with and F I think. I have seen

it many times at different book stores. If you are interested I ll bet

you would find it easily. Even with this poor information.

They did pass. My five year old has had one recently. Hope that this

does not mean they are starting for him as well.

Kaitlyn on the other hand has never had a problem with this.

We do not have this problem with Nick but with his twin

brother . He wakes up screaming, shaking and is

inconsolable. It goes on for about 10 minutes and then

he quiets down and goes back to sleep.

Hi ,

My has and still has night terrors. He would scream for hours during

the night. There was no conforting him. I eventually each night would make

him all cuddled up in the big comfy chair and put a movie on for him to

watch. He was very extreme, possibly because of the Autism but I do know

these were real night terrors. This past year when he wakes he is much

easier to settle and they don't last very long. He even once came into my

room before I heard him and he verbalized that he was scared and he crawled

in to bed with me.

We had a little problem while camping in our hard top just recently. In

order to not wake up the campground, I had to take him to the van and let

him settle it out.

I think these will pass for the children, is sooooo much better now

than when he was 4. I sometimes don't know how I survived that year now when

I look back.

I don't know if someone mentioned this already, but night terrors is one of

the symptoms of sleep apnea. Zack only had them a few times, but we had him

checked. At that time, they found the apnea was mild, but as he grew older,

it didn't go away and they finally took out his tonsils and adenoids. That

cut the night terrors out completely, along with the snoring, the tossing,

the loud sighing. He sleeps like a log now! Just something you might want

to have checked if you're worried about it.

Hi Kay,

I feel for you! Emma went through a period of waking screaming and

completely terrified! What was worse is that she couldn't tell me about it.

This went on for about 2 weeks and then stopped as quickly as it started.

For her, I am sure it was a change of routine plus she wasn't feeling well

with a cold. I slept with her after she woke screaming and she would hold

my hand very firmly as if to say " don't leave me " .

I hope gets through this quickly - it really is awful to see them

so scared. Get some rest!

I have had experience with Night Terrors with , now looking back I can

honestly tell you they were all related to lack of sleep due to a change in

his

schedule. Luckily, he only had them after we returned home, so the people

we were visiting did not have to be awake for half the night. If you get

him

back to his old routine there should be few of the terror and maybe none

at all. Hope all is well soon and you get your much needed sleep. Check

the first line of your message to welcoming Charlene, you are definitely

lacking sleep, did not you mean to type 2G and 1B???

Hi,

I am working with an 8yr old who has had much difficulty reading

(diagnosed dyslexic) as well as presenting severe emotional outbursts. I was

training B at c3pz and SMR at t3t4 which created great improvement in his

reading and memory yet he began having night terrors. The terrors lasted

nearly 1.5 weeks each about 15mins. After omitting the t3t4 training and

adding SMR at c4 things have shifted.

Perhaps that clears it up a little? Any suggestions?
