Guest guest Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 Hi Di, Well... I am not the one to give any advice, I still can't get out of bed for more than 1/2 an hour. My parents came to visit yesterday and they couldn't believe how uncomfortable I am. They were stuck in New York last week with the bad weather, so they missed me when I was doing OK on Wednesday. I unfortunately gave them a very light hearted description of the surgery... "not a problem, in and out, will be home the next day and back to normal by the end of the week". I think I believed that myself. I am a bit better today. I took a valium to go to bed last night to see if that would relax my muscles and help. Today I feel like I've had a hard night out on the town... I wish! But I do think that maybe I am a wee bit better than I was yesterday, it's only early though!. I hope you are feeling better. I had a tablet stuck fast yesterday which caused pain. I was so distressed by this and the pain in my abdomen that I rang Andi. She told me to suck ice as it is cold and helps witht he swelling inside. It did help. She also told me that I could suck ice blocks or paddle pops for the swelling... so I have enjoyed a few banana paddle pops. Nice change after soup. And I am hungry, but a little amount goes a long way. Have a good day Di... Mel Quote
Guest guest Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 Mel Pleased to hear you may have had some progress....i understand how difficult it can be to be certain though.... Thanks for the tips about ice blocks.... i've been mixing it up between soups, frozen yoghurt, drinking yoghurt, sustagen/tony ferguson shakes, fruit & veg juices and water. Sad to say that the decision of which form of liquid i'll take next appears to be the biggest decision of my day at present....lol. As to you, all i can say is 'thank God you have grit, girl!' Keep on getting better Di > > > Hi Di, > > Well... I am not the one to give any advice, I still can't get out of > bed for more than 1/2 an hour.
