Guest guest
Hi Bob- I wish i could help you but i really don't know. I know i read something about Zyprexa not being good. Did you look in the LB files ? Sending prayers for your mom. Sharon zyprexa My mom.. diagnosed with Lewy Body approx 7 yrs ago began jumping violently. I'm sure she had a HUGE seizure since she stiffened and was foaming at the mouth. She was not " with it " at the time. I'm wondering if this is a side effect of Zyprexa? I've read all the literature and it seems to be one. I called 911 and when they rehydrated her and treated her for pneumoina and a UTI, the jerking has stopped. My doctor calls these myocolonic jerks? I called Lilly's hotline but they are closed. Is this the disease... the Zyprexa... dehydration... infection.. or all of the above? I would appreciate any insight anyone can give. Thanks in advance, Bob Welcome to LBDcaregivers.
Guest guest
Hi, It could be all of the above but since your mom is in hospital I'd have them do a complete check-up on her. Please let us know. Guest guest
Bob, Zyprexa put my wife in the hospital 3 years ago and if she hadn't been taken off of it , she would have died.. This is NO NO NO drug for LBD Lily, the manufactor, sent out a message to all doctors just a few weeks to not prescribe this to senior dementa patients. I can't remember when, but I have a copy of the message in my files at the assisted living home where my wife is, if you need it just let me know.
