Guest guest Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 No wonder some of us have weight problems.... Just have to get this off my chest...sorry all. Went to lunch with my dear Mum, and we were talking about weight etc. She thought my step sister should be banded...But get this Mum she is only 69kg.. I told her Mum, no it is only for people like myself who really needed it, start this as morbidly obese. Then she told me she hopes that I can loose the rest of my weight and get down to being in the mid 50's again. She said, you would look so much better with another 20kgs plus off. No wonder I feel so depressed at times, lack confidence and feel worthless. My ex husband said I was " past my used by date " and then to have your own Mum tell you need to loose even more weight. Struggling with the emotional side of weight lose here. Why can she not celebrate the fact that have nearly 40kgs gone, are so much healthier and happier, feel normal and can buy a size 16 rather than a 26. Thanks for listening all Cheryl 118/79/??? _________________________________________________________________ Looking for love? Guest guest Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 THANK YOU ALL.... Thanks for the wonderful uplifting posts you have sent me. I spoke with my Mum about the comments, and she never realised how much they hurt me and then she said exactly what Robyn's Mum said...almost word for word....... " You used to be so beautiful....look at you now....it is such a shame!! " Boy oh boy...I giveup...sometimes people just do not understand what being obese is all about, especially if they have never walked that path themselves. She said she never understood that I felt so bad inside, she had no idea that problems obesity causes, not just the health ones, but the other things we just get use to. Like always working out which way has more spare to get around the tables, the rashes we suffer from the heat in the summer, wearing boats instead of shoes as straps are so hard to do up, oh you know them all the list goes on. I agree with you Maree about always, always trying to look you best. My ex husband phoned and wanted to take me out in the weekend, that is what loosing 40 kilos does, my answer was a polite and firm no. Yes, guess my bar code is past my used by date...being that I will not be used any more. Thank you all once again for the wonderful support, I look forward to meeting you all personally one day. Hugs Cheryl _________________________________________________________________ Discover fun and games at @ http://xtramsn.co.nz/kids Quote
Guest guest Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Cheryl, Isn't it amazing how some people can be so hurtful and not even realise what they have said cuts us to the core. I'm so sorry for what you mother sad to you and there is no excuse for it. I have a family that does the exact same thing so I know how you are feeling. Just know that we celebrate you losses with you, you are a caring and kind person and I envy anyone that can wear size 16 >:-). Family just sucks sometimes don't they. Chin up.
