Guest guest
I wonder how Mom will be today. Will she be in a rage or soft spoken today. Perhaps she won't say a word or call, Just sit there staring at nothing at all. Will she be whining or crying like she's in pain. Tears from nowhere falling down like rain. Threatening others because of her fear. Where is that Mom that I love so dear? Slowly I have watched her slip away. Never knowing the right thing to say, Feeling helpless as the days grow long, Never sure what to do to help her be strong. Taking each moment one at a time. Nothing makes sense, no reason or rhyme. Each step I take seems like an endless mile. Then surprizing me she gives me a smile. ©Perriman Sept. 2004

Guest guest
Patti Did you go into our minds to get this poem? How very astute you are with this one. You described my mom as she is today. This one brought me to tears because it is so true. Love your poetry Jacqui
