LDN and Alcohol

While on interferon, I was instructed to use LDN too, till I hear that

the combination is incompatible and I informed my neuro who decided to

stop LDN. Now I am planning to propose to my Dr. to go to LDN alone.

The think that bothers me is that I'm used to consume alcohol at night

because it keeps me calm. Do you think that I'll have problems?

My boyfriend takes LND together with Copaxone for one week now . At

first he had some difficulty sleeping, but this only lasted for 3

nights. He is also used to drink a few beers in the evening and still

does. I think the only effect of LDN together with alcohol is that the

alcohol does not have the effect you're used to. This is only when you

take LDN before you have a beer. The other way around (take it before

you go to sleep) does not seem to have any bad side-effects.

My mom and I find that LDN calms us. The alcohol may not have the same effect

on you while you are taking LDN. It's okay to drink alcohol while taking LDN as

long as you are not an alcoholic, then LDN would put you into withdrawal

symptoms.

I would think the LDN as low as we take it wouldn't affect alcohol at

all. I drink wine nightly and sometimes lots of it and I have no

affects drinking with LDN.

Rhonda,

I too like my merlot at night, to calm the body. This is a real

scientific question---do you notice you feel better when having wine

at night, then times that you don't???? At the moment I've given

up the wined and coffee (how is that for strength!!) while on a

strong acidolphilus. I've not been diagnosed with candida, just

adjusting my gut. I've done rather well " off " the two of them,

but look forward to either the LDN kicking in the calm results or

back to the merlot.

God Bless,

Sara

I feel the same drinking wine as I did before taking LDN. LDN

calming, LOL b/c it gives me so much energy I can do anything and

everything and go out dancing til 2am and get up next day and do

more. I dug two huge holes in dirt hard as concrete in 100 degree

humid weather to plant a palm tree and canna lily not to long ago.

Couldn't have done that before the liquid LDN energy. And I got the

energy part after taking LDN the liquid way where I was taking the

crushed way and got other symptom relief but not with the chronic

fatigue which was killing me. I still have a bit of numbness but

it's not real intense anymore. I still like the wine buzz tho and

wine with foods. Not sure I would ever sleep without the wine and

started drinking wine 10 years ago when my symptoms started and I

couldn't sleep or wake up and not go back to sleep. Took Kava and

Valerian back then also or benedryl.

Yes, sometimes I feel better and sometimes not. I think too that the

menstrual cyle affects me with how alcohol makes me feel. Or maybe

it's some other body cycle.

Hi Colin,Yes, it is possible, but definitely not advisable. As a general rule, medications and alcohol do not mix. Besides, alcohol is a neurotoxin.Sincerely,Dudley Delany

Is it possible to go out for a few drinks (alcohol) then take LDN before sleeping?

I drink a couple glasses of red wine with dinner every night. I hope

it's not a problem because I'm not about to give that up.

I use to have, now and then, some glass of wine,

and may be some lighter drinks like s in addition.

I have Crohns disease and cannot drink beer, my stomach

reacts then, but it's ok for me to have red wine and soft drinks.

I never drink too much, and I usually take my LDN at normal time,

it has happened that I have taken it around 2.00 before bedtime

when drinking wine earlier at night, and it has not at all made any

trouble for me. But remember, we're different. What I can have, other

may be can't. Why not try a little one night? And the decide if this

is ok for you?....

I mean.....we are still supposed to have a life, eh? :-) Ingrid

I drink sometimes (3 - 5 times a year) some glass of red wine and

some small s, I take my LDN as usual, and feel fine.

Sometimes I take LDN later at night when having wine.
