Guest guest
Hi Group- Please keep in your prayers as his plane is leaving today at 2:15. Our goal is for him to finish things up in New Zealand, and come back to Iowa as soon as possible. This could be the end of October, but not definite on that. Reports are that his mom, Jo, has settled nicely at the NH. She has made many friends with both residents and the staff. She gets involved in activities, yet at times has time to herself. Once gets back her status will be changed from 'respite' to 'long term' after some assessments and check-ups. Also, an update on my Uncle Mel. He is out of ICU, and has started eating some solid foods. When we visited him yesterday, it seemed he had slipped backwards a bit as he was very stiff, was trembling terribly, and was in a lot of pain. He is so very thin. He said it was one of his off days. He struggles with sundowners so evenings have been tough for he and my aunt. The doctors are hoping to send him home on Monday. Anyhow, he is off all the tubes and machines, and that is a very positive move forward. Thank you to all that kept him in your prayers - there is proof already that the prayers are working. Many hugs to all, and my thoughts and prayers are with you- Sandie and , currently in the same time zone
