Guest guest
Arletha This disease is different to all who have it. If your husband is still walking and able to spend money, I don't think he is going down hill, just unsure of himself. That seems to be one of the side effects of LBD. To me it is like having a 2 yr old that you have to keep reassuring them that everything will be all right. I often say I have a 2yr old that happens to be 83 years of age. I have to keep reassuring her we aren't putting her in a nh either. She thinks she can take care of herself and I let her try sometimes. So you see, you aren't alone in this. If you want to vent, scream or cry....go ahead. I'm here as are many others that have and are going thru what you are going thru now. I will put you in my prayers Jacqui
Guest guest
Arletha, I would say that he knows that he is losing ground and he wants to do what he can to be strong for you. He probably feels that if he goes to a nursing home he would not be such a burden for you. Not sure about the money issue. Maybe he isnt sure that he has given the right amount or gotten the right amount of change. I know my mother was great with numbers and when she got ill her ability to add or subtract was lost. Guest guest
Hospice will evaluate the situation and determine if it falls within their guidelines. Don't hesitate. It's the one regret I have surrounding my father's death; that I didn't recognize the comfort he needed and would have received from hospice. > > > Question? when is it time for Hospice? > I spoke to a lady today about how ronnie was doing? > She says by what i told her Ronnie needs hospice now? > So does anyone have anything . Guest guest
Arletha, Definitely call hospice. They can tell you if it is time. They are so helpful and wonderful. They saved us in caring for Dad....and made him more comfortable. Of all the agencies and people we dealt with, hospice was the best. They were there for everything. They treat the patient and the family. Guest guest
Arletha, You do not have to know. You can call Hospice and they will do an evaluation and you can then decide if it is what you want to do. They will be so supportive and will come even more as times goes on.
