They tested me for Ferritin and my level was low, therefore they said, "You do not have STills" I am now back in the land of the unknown and hoping that the next Rheumy I see can tell me what I might really have!! I did not think this test was the end all be all for stills either but apparently some doctors do. Lynn new doc. Well the other day I got to see a romie at Kaiser here in caif. talk about upsetting me seen a internist two times .ran some blood work. all cam back okay but my low iron counts (not feriton that for once was normal ) any hoot the first viset he tels me I do not have stills and that he ran a blood test for it . well as fare as i knew there was no blood test for stills am I wrong on that ? second how dare he make that call and judgment in only one viset of less then ten mins and with no medical records but the few blood test and my old records from over 15 years ago!!!!!! Did tell him of the problems i am having now and what test and things they did in Boise Idaho and at Stanford med center here in Calif. this makes me so mad!!!!!!!!!! any advice from any one ? no big problems yet some sleep trouble and lots of pain and hard to walk from the pain in my left heal . also the base of fingers on both hands are hurting alot just like the ball of my right foot were a loot of the joint has been rottin away . still to make a call like that one viset no records grrrrrrrr.but it seams like we all have to train these doctors when ever we change to a new one and here there the ones that went to school for this stuff not Us !!!!! yes i am upset !!!!!!! the hurting night drangon slyer and freind to all here wishing all a good day to all Marty GVisit the Still's Disease Message Boardhttp://disc.server.com/Indices/148599.htmlThe materials and information contained in this message are not intended to replace the services of a trained health professional or to be a substitute for medical advice of physicians and/or other health care professionals. Even though my technical diagnoses on my charts in the 70's reads Stills, nowadays when my doctor puts down diagnoses for therapy he just writes rheumatoid and he is my original doctor. I guess what I mean is that often symptoms of Stills is so similar and the treatment the same after some years maybe he can still treat you? I don't know, I could be very wrong in thinking this way because for many people Stills symptoms stay very different, so no yelling everyone, loll. But it is good to hear from you and I hope he at least gave you something to help your pain. Guest guest Posted April 26, 2004 Report Share Posted April 26, 2004 Thanks to all who responded. yes it is frustrating .the one prooblem i see is the med covrage I have you must have a referal to see a rumy and that is a job in and of it self . no i was not given any thing for pain but a stron inflamitory and musscle relacksers. what fun and soon i suspect ssi well want to review my case in that case i will be screwd as no doc for two years now one that makes calls like this grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!! funny this med group is in close with stanford medical center . kind of like the mao clinic . it was there head profeser that gave the dinoses and ssi agreed fact came out stronger for me then my own doc.s now this person makes a call like this .
