Hi everyone, I have a son who is eleven and was diagnosed with ocd

last sept. My father has it and I have it. I keep mine in check

most of the time. I don't remember being as bad as my son. He

washes all the time. Uses the bathroom up to ten times a hour. He

tantrums when I don't answer his questions or when I don't do

something he asks. He is always asking questions for reassurance.

He has always done it but it seemed to blow up this year when he

started 5th grade. The teachers are complaining that he has a

disipline problem. We took him in oct. and he was offically

diagnosed. We told him what was wrong with him. He seemed relieved

and wanted to get better. He had thought he was crazy. He seemed

better for awhile but the last two weeks have been rotten. He is

tantruming all the time. I feel very alone as a parent. It is like

he saves it up for me until he gets home from school and lets it all

out. It takes him hours to do homework. He gets straight " A " s but

if he cannot get a good grade he will not do the assignment. We told

the teachers about his diagnoses and they were all very relieved and

said they see it. He starts Out patient ERP treatment tomorrow with

a new doctor. I am sorry for the long complaints. I just don't know

how to handle this anymore. I don't know how to disipline. Nothing

works. He treats his whole family very meanly. Is this normal OCD

behavior? What do you guys do for disipline. How do I know what is

normal 11yr old behavior and OCD behavior. Any tips. I am just so

fustrated and sad for him. I love him so much but he is so hard to

be with. Thank you for letting me vent. Any advice?

Lynn
