Sometimes I wonder, and wonder and wonder !!! I remember when I was a boy having pains that really hurt bad. I was always told that they was growing pains, just growing pains and that they would go away. Yep they did go away after a while, they never stopped me but sure slowed me down sometimes, and I remember it hurting most at night. Guess they was just growing pains. And then there was a rash. What did you do? Get into some poison ivy again? Old horse doctor White Coat called it eczema I think. That old rash would come and go and come and go. I learned not to have a fever. If you got a fever then that brought out the big jar of Vicks and you had to endure being plastered with the stuff and maybe even a little bit stuck up your nose just for good measure. Fever, go away go away, or the Vicks will come out. Boy all this sports stuff is really hard. How come if I run hard I get really bad pains in my belly. Hurts so darn bad. Horse doctor White Coat says might be appendix, we will see what happens with the fever. I remember the old folks talking about Rheumatiz. Boy acts like he gots the rheumatiz, naw way too young to have the rheumatiz. High school days, get really bad sick, hurting in the belly again bad. All kinds of test and nothing found. Then the Naval Air days, sore throat again, this guy sure gets strep throat a lot. Give him penicillin, it will be good for what ever ails him. Then the bout with the strange pneumonia, good old Navy, give him penicillin and a couple days of rest then back on duty. Things are great when breathing oxygen. Must have been some strange virus !! The time of the big time rash. Navy Flight surgeon White Coat, says is a case of the nerves probably, thinks was caused by this near miss incident thing. Throw the pills away and just rub on this calamine lotion. Then years later, White Coat will not give me some pills so I can get back to work, says you got the pneumonia bad and your are going right to the hospital for the cure. Gosh I know I missed some different times too. Then there was the big big time ICU thing and all the White Coats and all the kings men, and finally the diagnosis of Stills. It is wonderful to have a name to call this thing. And I was wondering how come I was still having growing pains.

It might be in the Genes Liz.

Just wanted to say that my RA was always negative until about 5 years ago when it changed to positive and was told this could happen. May be the same for you too Liz. I wouldn't know why but want you to know there are others too. Melt

From: C J

Stills folks usually have a negative RA factor.
