Guest guest
Hello! My name is , lindsayjharris@... or familycows@...I am a raw milk farmer in Hinesburg, Vermont (in the northwestern part of the state). I currently milk 6 grass-fed, Jersey and Guernsey cows and sell all the milk raw directly to my community. I'm also on the board of Rural Vermont, a small farm advocacy organization. I was active in the effort to get the raw milk laws changed here in Vermont. We can now sell up to 40 gallons (up from 6 gallons) per day and deliver to customers homes. Our farm became the first state-certified raw milk farm in Vermont. I also teach some basic home dairying classes and love making all kinds of things out of our wonderful milk at home. I am forever a student of the many miracles of (real) milk!I was working on a beef farm a few years ago when I got my first dairy cow. She was just for my own use and I milked her by hand once a day. When my neighbors heard that I had extra raw milk, they came in droves! I got another cow and another and kept selling out. So I started, Family Cow Farmstand with my partner. Now we sell around 80 gallons/week to around 100 families. Please check out our website and blog (link on the website). We are also newly on Facebook and Twitter (@FamilyCow) - which cracks me up! We are taking new customers, so if any in the area are looking for milk, let us know! We sell from a farmstand in Hinesburg and by delivery to Burlington, Vermont.www.familycowfarmstand.comI'm excited to be a part of this group!Thank you for making this type of information sharing possible.
