stretching prior to the exercise your doing will help tremendously in

prevention.

as far as cure... time, hot bath, maybe some bengay...

Funny you should bring that up. I've seen 2 articles in the last 2

weeks about the shins being an overlooked muscle and how to work it

to avoid shinsplints and such.

They recommended getting a resistance band, wrapping it around your

toes and flexing your foot. They also recommended turning both feet

out away from each other to hit it from a different angle.
