- Prendisone

Hi ,

I read in one of your posts that you have been on prendisone for 3

years. I have been on it for 6 months now and my RD wants me to get off

it ASAP. But we are having problems doing that! Have you had any

adverse effects from being on it so long? Apparently it affects your

bones amongst other things. That is one of my big worries as I have a

hip problem since I was 18 (am now 39) and I don't want the prendisone

to make it any worse, although it is worse which I don't know if it is

because of the disease or the prendisone! I am to have a hip

replacement as soon as I get this disease under control. My RD doesn't

want me to be operated on unless I am off prendisone or on a very low

dose. So what does your doc say about the prendisone situation with

you? Any of your thoughts/comments would be appreciated! Hugs from
