Guest guest
Hi , Nice to read that your report came back with such positive results. I, of course, dug out my last one and tried to compare it with yours but I don't have quite a few that you do. And some of the ones I do, it's a different reading. The closest I can come to any of your readings is the Platelet......yours was 243, I think and mine is 241. Guess we are doing pretty well on that one. It will be interesting to see what my new lab report reveals since I am in this darn flare at the moment. Hopefully, the Enbrel/MTX will have kicked in by the time I go see my Rheumatologist and I'll be back "cheer leading" again. Careful shoveling.... Mi. Guest guest
Hey , I am very happy for you! Printing out a copy for your personal use is a great idea. I started asking for a copy a few years ago, and it's interesting to compare. You are right in that reading you are in the "normal" range feels kind of nice. A foot and a half of snow!! Wowzers! We had several inches of fresh snow last Saturday, and before dark it was all gone again. It's been really nice Spring type weather here. Well, it *is* after all Spring. lol. Clouding up now though, and possible rain the next few days. Maybe a real nice thunder storm Saturday. Gotta love those thunder storms! Anyhow..I do. As long as no one gets hurt. Take care, and thank you for sharing the good report from your doctor. from Wisconsin, Tricia -- Update Well saw my rhumy this morning, all my blood tests are within normal range again.Seems to confuse him though he acually asked what I had been doing as in why my Stills seems like a mystery to him sed rate was 13 along with everything else being normal, acuallly got him to print me out copy for me this time here goes. Not sure what they all represent though HGB-149,RBC-4.93,HCT-0.45,MCV-90,MCHC-336,RDW-14.4PLT-245,WBC-10.6and ESR-13 .Right beside all these are the normal counts for Adult males kinda cool to look there and see them all within where they should be.Well think ill go shovel some snow lol we got foot & half last night last week the golf courses were open Albertas great take care. d.Canada

Guest guest
Kirk; I think many times in the earliest years of this disease we have to make repeated hospital stays. A large part of this disease will just not let you keep going full out or even at slow speeds sometimes without getting worse before better. I think you are finding this out as you go. You may have to start delegating more in the shop especially in the afternoons and get yourself a stool. I hope you can get some rest as that is all important and you might ask your doctor for something to help you get to sleep because sleep is something we can try and do to get better with this disease. We need our rest. It is imperative. Many good thoughts, Pattymelt I made an emergency appointment with my PCP on Monday, and he had more blood tests ordered. He had a copy sent to my rheumatologist also. I was to call my rheum. today. I guess they must have seen something, as my rheum has me staying at 20 mg of Prednisone per day instead of lowering me this week as planned. He also is getting the ball rolling with my insurance company to get me started on Enbril. I have come to the conclusion that even with the possible side effects, I have to try this, as I can not keep going like I have been. I just have a strange "feeling" that I am headed back to the hospital again. I My pain has been increasingly becoming more intense) that I can not fall asleep. I am sick of trying to go to bed at 10:30 or 11:00 only to see 2:30 or 3:00 before my eyes actually stay closed. If I wasn't on 2 million prescriptions I would just have a beer, as that always used to help me sleep, but I am too afraid to have one, as I have no desire to get burned by stupidity, especially my own

Guest guest
Kirk, Check with you doctor to see if you can take something for sleep. Sometimes Tylenol Pm or something can help. They can tell you what to take with your other meds because not sleeping will only make the pain get worse. Hang in there guy. You are not alone. I can barely move this morning. Feel like I became the Mummy overnight. I do the 90 year old shuffle these days. Lynn update Well, I am still going, although I sure can't view myself as the Energizer Bunny! I have been feeling worse instead of better for the last 10 days or so. My legs are becoming more problematic, and the way my right knee has felt has me worried. I also can not put much weight on the back of my feet at all after noon "ish" everyday for the last week or so. I made an emergency appointment with my PCP on Monday, and he had more blood tests ordered. He had a copy sent to my rheumatologist also. I was to call my rheum. today. I just have a strange "feeling" that I am headed back to the hospital again. I really do not want to wind up there if at all possible. I am finally accepting (to myself) that I have this disease, and have been getting better (mentally) at dealing with it. If I wind up there again, I probably will lose what has been hard to gain, that being my mental state. My pain has been increasingly becoming more intense, to the point where I almost wishing I was in the hospital getting doses of the "good stuff"! My doctor gave me another prescription for Vicodin, but they only seem to help IF I can catch the pain before it becomes overwhelming. So far I am hit and miss with it, as I can't seem to be able to judge when the pain is moderate and getting worse until it is worse. By that time, I am essentially up you know what creek. The pain is starting to take over my life, to the point where it hurts so bad (headaches, my right knee, my legs in general, and now my wrists and sometimes elbows) that I can not fall asleep. I am sick of trying to go to bed at 10:30 or 11:00 only to see 2:30 or 3:00 before my eyes actually stay closed. Guest guest
I'm shuffling right behind you, Lynn. Sometimes I take Tylenol P.M. when not sleeping at night really gets to me finally. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The "sometimes, yes" means about four hours of uninterrupted zzzzzz's which is Nirvana for me. Kirk, my doctor gave me a Rx for Ambien but I never filled it. I didn't know if I would get hooked on sleeping pills so.......... Hope you start sleeping soon. I don't know what to tell you about your pain. I wish I could.... ) Mi. Carmen
Guest guest
Tricia, good luck at the Dr's on the 17th. You and Dennis are in my thoughts and prayers. I was ready to put the a/c back in, but now will wait until it gets hot again lol.. I am nervous about that as I feel the cold soo much more in my ankles now. So I will look really cute in shorts and thermal socks in 100 degree weather (heheh there is a pic for you). I go for the xrays tomorrow morning and haven't had any side effects on the "patch" so I will get the other prescription also. Your KiKi is soo cute. She found a very good home. Guest guest
Kirk on the high dose steriods you might need a sleepin pill i know i did and even with that i was still only sleeping 2-3 hours a night, but at least it was something.I beleive it was Imovane or somethin like that,i had same problem as your having too its common with us Stilligans our brians keep wandering when its time to sleep, take care catch a boatload, cause if the prednisone is helping it should only get better, you might just have to Wean yourself off of it a little slower. d.Canada update My PCP has increased my steroid dose from 20 mg/day to 60 mg/day. Today is the best I have felt in about two months, but that isn't saying much. I am sitting here at midnight wired to death, with sleep nowhere in sight. What a love/hate relationship these little pills create. I had my ultra sound on my left kidney today. There certainly is something there, but trying to get any information out of anyone at the hospital is like trying to take a steak off of a dog. It doesn't work. They just keep telling you to contact your family doctor. I swear the anxiety is almost as bad as the disease itself! They also did a chest X-ray that my PCP had ordered, but "said" I have to wait until the 7th of July for the ECHO. I felt the tightness in my chest twice today, but I had no difficulty breathing nor any pain. I am beginning to become "numb" mentally, and that can't be good. Mi Carmen....mud wrestling??? I am game for that! Just kidding, my wife would beat me, LOL. What I have planned for this weekend is my bass club's trip to Lake Ontario in upstate NY this weekend. It is two tournaments in two days. It is one of my few long weekends that I use as "vacation". We leave Friday around noon and return Sunday around 6:00 PM. Yesterday I did not think I would be able to attend, and that is still a possibility, but if I hear no bad news regarding my kidney and the steroids work as well as they did today, I should at least be able to go, even if I can only fish a couple of hours per tournament. Outside of my family and my business, I live to fish. I haven't been doing to well at it this year, as my mind has been way too preoccupied the last two weeks, but usually enjoy it. I do rest when I can, but have a hard time doing so. My mind gets so tied up thinking about everything going wrong that I get miserable and depressed. When I keep my mind busy, I am much, much better. I know I may pay a price for this, but I would rather be happy than someone no one wants to be near. I have greatly reduced my workload, and have no extra activities outside of fishing with the exception of playing with my two boys. Most of the time that is as simple as watching them swim, other times it is trying to teach my oldest son how to catch a baseball or football. It is always low impact. My main problem is a lack of sleep lately. Part of it is the headaches that seem to happen every other day. Part of it is the anxiety that I have absolutely no clue how to deal with. Part of it is fear. I may go to bed at 9:00 PM, only to lay there until 12:30 or 1:00 in the morning, and that is without a headache. It becomes so senseless to me that I usually go online and read and reply to emails, or do research on this and the many automotive forums I read. Eventually I do get to sleep. One thing I have started to do is take a nap after work for an hour or so, as my body usually allows me to sleep then, but not at night. I could theoretically sleep from 5:30 on, but then my wife and kids would suffer, and I think they have had to suffer enough with me for me to do that. Besides, I no longer take them for granted, and really want to be with them all the time. Weird how it takes something so drastic to open your eyes just a little bit more than they were. I was never a bad husband or father, but I am better now. Well, as you can tell my mind is wandering. Have a good day. Guest guest
Hi Kirk, Nice to hear you are feeling better. You may have to add yet another med to your list and get something to help you get some much needed sleep. It's almost like we take "uppers" and "downers" in order to survive the onslaughts of the nasty "dragon." From reading your e-mails I know that you are a very good husband and father. You are taking more time to rest, and that is good....still..you might want to talk with your doctor about something to help you sleep at night. I do so hope that you will be able to go and enjoy your weekend with the fishing. Take care Kirk, and keep us updated on your progress and your battle with the "Stills dragon." I appreciate your upbeat attitude with all you are coping with! Your sense of humor is remarkable! Don't ever lose it! Kirk.

Guest guest
Suzie, My prayers are with you. I have been praying so hard for you since you told us. Love and Hugs, Glenda Hi Guys, I just got back from the hospital - the endoscopy. What a mess!!! The doc gave me "sedation" 5mg versed & 25mg Demerol & I didn't feel it! I was wide awake, aware & pissed off the whole time. Then they wouldn't let me eat or drink anything for another hour! I was finished & out of there by noon so I could have made it to the oncologist appointment they first gave me. The Cancer Centre is at the same site. Could have had lunch & seen the oncologist no problem - damn! I think my G I wants to send me back to the transplant centre but he didn't say much more than everything is O K in my gullet. So far, so good. Next week, the oncologist! SuZie Next time I'm coming back as a cat See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Guest guest
Don’t they know by now that you’re a professional and you require more sedation than that? What a joke! Guest guest
That amount of sedation worked last time. This time the stupid nurse put the i v in a vein I told her wasn't reliable & I think that when the doctor injected the versed he did it too fast & collapsed the vein so the rest went into the muscle where it did no good at all. I got a bit of a buzz from the versed - not much but a bit. Medical professionals my butt!!! Next time they'll listen to me or I walk! My throat still hurts. every thing's normal there at least. I couldn't take much more bad news. SuZie Motley wrote: Don’t they know by now that you’re a professional and you require more sedation than that? What a joke!
