This article summarizes a recent publication linking genes and their brain

function to autistic behavior.

We know that a number of genes are linked by association to autism. However,

scientists still do not know what some of these genes do to nerve cell function.

Here is a step for understanding a genetic change seen in 0.5%.

More importantly, for the other 99.5%, it shows the deliberate (albeit

painfully slow for each parent/child) process that scientists are taking to

understanding some of these genes.
