Guest guest Posted April 19, 2008 Report Share Posted April 19, 2008 ---We've had the Berard method of AIT three times. Joe has really sensitive ears and could hear cars going past etc before we did. He would spend most of the day with his hands over his years. The first course worked really well, much less sensitivity afterwards but this gradually crept back over the next year so we had it done again a year later. Second time, no change at all. Third time, a year later again, big improvement again, which seems to have stayed with him. It must be 3 years now since he had his last course. The therapist came to our house which was great but I don't think she does this any more. I've now bought The Listening Programme which I'm currently using with my other son, who isnt on the autistic spectrum but is having problems at school, behind the rest of the class, dreamy, etc. We've been doing this about 4 months. His teacher said he now always listens in class and has caught up alot. I intend to use The Listening Programme on Joe eventually but at the moment we are doing a Handle programme and our practitioner says because Joe is so sensitive it would be too much for him to do both at the same time.
