Hey ,

I was fighting for ABA last year when I was trying to get it for my

daughter but I was met with so much disappointment as our district

administration is so against ABA. If there are others out there who

would like to band together to start working on this I will be glad

to go for it!!!! I was so burnt out last year after years of trying

to get something going for my daughter that I finally gave up

fighting them. Having 2 children with autism, running a home program,

getting very little sleep as my daughter is up for hours in the

middle of the night every night made it impossible for me to do more,

I kept hitting brick walls & just crashed.

{sorry - got carried away and forgot to change the subject line!}

we're in cy fair which is a little too long of a commute for y'all up in

burleson.

but seriously, i would love to see the energy spent in what could be a more

productive, farther reaching way. if there was more quality therapy used in

school, (huge leap here) waiting on line might not be as big of a deal for these

soon to be grown adults whether it's at six flags or the grocery store.

the goal is to get as close to independent as possible, right? i know that

those skills can be taught because i've witnessed huge results in the past few

weeks. mine may not ever achieve total independence (we've got a few other

medical issues to contend with) but i know his teacher this year has made a

positive effect in the direction that he is now headed.
