Guest guest
=== & gt; Do you make your own " rags " or do you use a product like " wemoon " ? I gave up tampons years ago but am still using pads and interested to get off those too onto a more natural and environmentally friendly product/method. Can you describe a bit more for us? Hi, I have been using something called the " keeper " for about six months now. it is a washable cup that is very comfortable and easy to use once you get used to it. saves me tons of money! i think they since changed the name to " diva cup " . this is from the website www.divacup.com: The DivaCup™ is very sanitary, comfortable, reliable and convenient. It holds one full ounce (30 ml). The entire cycle is an average of 3-4 ounces (90-120 ml). The vagina is continually self-cleansing, washing away dead cells and bacteria. Unlike tampons, The DivaCup™ is non-absorbent. Since it simply collects the menstrual flow, it does not disturb the natural moisture level in the vagina. Depending on your flow empty 2-3 times per 24 hour day, wash and reinsert. It can be worn up to 12 hours, even overnight. The DivaCup™ is ideal for all activities including swimming, camping, backpacking, and travelling. It is suitable for all menstruating women of all ages. Since The DivaCup™ is reusable, it is very economical. As well, you can feel confident that you are doing your part in environmental conservation. Landfill and pollution problems are on the rise and continue to be a worldwide concern. In 1998, 7 billion tampons and 13 billion sanitary pads and their packaging made their way into landfills and sewage systems in the USA alone! Guest guest
Just in case someone tries the Keeper and it doesn't work for them I thought I'd offer my experience. I tried the Keeper and had a lot of leaking but then found the Instead menstrual cup product (I could get it at the grocery store)--this is not advertised as reusable (use it once and throw it away) but I didn't follow this advise and reuse mine over and over washing it in between-I'm not dead yet. I rarely have leaks and use a flannel pad just in case especially when I'm exercising. The design is different than the keeper, here's a web page that shows comparison photos http://www.mum.org/KeeperInsteadpic.htm -- Re: PMS/tampon alternative === & gt; Do you make your own " rags " or do you use a product like " wemoon " ?
