It is one of the easiest experiments we've ever conducted (we did it as a homeschool project). We just threw the cream in the KitchenAid mixer with the paddle attachment, added a bit of salt and off we went. Ten minutes later, butter. Of course, I was using Organic Valley pasteurized cream...
