Great! No matter what I do I keep adding boobs to my carcass. Might as well just get a bunch of sports bras and call it a day. grrrrrrr As I lose weight it will be interesting to see what happens to the gyno. Fingers crossed, but i dont think so. I have alot of lumpy tissue which is probably not just fat, although mammogram said just dense fat. So maybe I will get lucky and lose my moobs along with the other lard. I am only drinking 8-16 oz per day, so maybe that isnt do bad. I tried Rice milk, but dont really care for it as much. The Dash book suggests dairy in small amounts, or taking lactaid with it. That works, but it is a bit annoying to have to take a pill just to drink a glass of milk.

I'd be wary of using processed soy products if you're already dealing with gynecomastia. I don't have time right now to PubMed it, but I've seen studies linking excessive processed soy intake to development of "man boobs" and lowering of testosterone due to the plant estrogens in soy.As a woman with fibrocystic breast disorder and a history of abnormalities on mammograms, I was advised to limit or exclude soy as it is suspected (not proven, "suspected") to contribute to the growth of abnormal cell tissue.>> I bought s DASH book yesterday and have read about the first 100 pages. I am on a low dose of spiro and I have some of the gyneco s/s but I have really been working out (not like a crazy man, but daily lifting some light weights) and keeping the rest of the chest with better definition and it is helping. If insurance comes through I will switch to epelerone, but can't afford to pay for it right now, so spiro for now. I have been able to drop to 12.5 a day with DASH (and now that PA/thyroid/ K are controlled I can excersise again) and I am doing great BP wise on it. Not quite DASH alone, but I hope to get there. And my history for years was 160/120 and higher daily even on 5 "wrong" BP meds at one time.

So work on that chest......and forget the sports Bra....or the "bro"...or the manzziere....

43 yo 5'10" 170lbs male PA-C and EMT-P w/ PA responded well to spiro and DASH (have gone from 25mg q day to 12.5 q day). PA led to development of a murmur, LVH, and combined with Hyperthyroidism a real CHF like lifestyle - which lifestyle was turned upside down in 2009, but now doing much better. Had an Average BP 160/120 (170/130 AVERAGE when TSH was also low!) for many years on 5 BP meds and now 130/80 on only 25mg/day spiro and DASH alone!

Not trying to open a can of worms, but have you ever tried raw dairy? We get our milk from friends that own a cow and not only is it super delicious the enzymes are not destroyed by pasteurization. I have weaned two children directly to raw milk with no problems. I know all the arguments against raw milk, but IMHO raw dairy have to be cleaner as they must be more careful to avoid bacteria. Many who cannot drink pasteurized milk can drink raw as the enzymes naturally occurring in the milk help break up the lactose. Also, I have made homemade V-8. Get a juicer and plant tomatoes. I did a long juice fast once and toward the end when I juiced tomatoes and peppers and onions and garlic and jalepenos as well as a carrot, spinach and a bit of beet I really felt like I was drinking pizza! The stuff I made had no salt,

but lost of garlic and hot peppers really made it palatable. Of course fresh juicing just takes time and does cost money., 40 WF, 5 kids, Marine Corps wife, L adenomaSubject: Re: Silk SoymilkTo: hyperaldosteronism Date: Wednesday, May 4, 2011, 9:49 AM

Lactaid doesn't do a darned thing for my lactose intolerance. The vast majority of adults worldwide are lactose intolerant - I'm convinced we're just not meant to consume cow's milk once we've passed childhood.

Have you tried almond milk? I haven't, but it might be a good option - almonds are pretty high in K.

No, i havent had raw dairy since i was a kid. I have a good heathfood store nearby. I shoudl see if they sell raw milk. Worth a try.

YUM, liquid pizza! Unless I plant the tomatoes it would just be cheaper to by V8 juice. But, it is something i want to try...as well as homesalsa so it has no salt in it.

, that's a good point about raw dairy. I think it was in one of Pollan's or n Nestle's books that this was addressed - many people who are lactose intolerant can tolerate raw dairy but not pasteurized.

Haven't tried it myself - having been LI my entire life, I just don't find dairy products especially appealing. But for someone who has already acquired the taste for milk but developed LI later in life, this might be a good option.

Hmm. As I recAll pasturization is use to kill bacteria. I worked one summer in a cheese factory in MO. The milk in the big cans from the farms was always strained before in went into the cheese making vats. Why I asked? Because we filter out the mice and rats and cig butts and even condoms that some how end up in the milk cans from the farm. Was glad they pasturized the milk before it was made into cheese. But even gladder they filtered it. Tiped sad Send form miiPhone ;-)May your pressure be low!CE Grim MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension

I don't care if anyone else wants to drink pastureized, homogonized milk, but why should it be illegal for me to drink raw if I choose? Government is way to invasive. In FL where we are temporarily stationed - I have to buy raw milk as pet food. But again, I met the farmer, walked the farm - all four cows are named. I have watched the milking and I KNOW what I am getting.
