Guest guest
Finally, we have our tribunal result - the panel has ordered that our LEA must pay for our home programme of RDI for one year. They found 'that the RDI programme is necessary to meet Philip's needs around flexible thinking and making and maintaining meaningful relationships'. They 'took into account the LEA's concern that there is currently no evidence of proven success with RDI but accept the parents concern in Philip's case that this is a criticism that can equally be levelled at the interventions proposed by the LEA' (TEACCH, Social Stories etc). They found that 'the combination of Philip's severe and complex needs, together with his traumatic experience of school, require the use of RDI as part of a transition programme to help ensure Philip's return to school' Phew.......
