Guest guest
Dear Steph I only get a digest of the posts so just saw ur message now. U know this like I do inside out and back to front. Is it in anyway different than previously, sounds to me like it is!! I would go to A & E in these circumstances, he could have a twist in his bowel or a ruptured appendix or anything. He needs an x-ray in the least, some kind of MRI or CAT scan would show more..... Anything different, if colitis flares badly cut way back to the intro diet of SCD, like the post you sent me the other day, pureeing helps the digestion. Soup, fruit purees etc, lotsa water. Could these new drugs be crap for him. If he is worse now, cut them out. If he did badly on DMSA I could imagine that Sulfasalazine (sulphur component) may have the same effect. I would cut that out and get Dr Fell ASAP to see you as an emergency next week. (BTW I have spoken to the drug company about both sulfasalazine and mesasalazine and the latter is just less toxic because it doesn't have the sulphur part from what the bloke said.) Its bollocking awful what these children suffer. Hope its better now. Luv Caroline xxx
Guest guest
I think it's partly fear - mine and his. I'd forgotten how awful it is and he's worried that he's going " back there " - land of pain. I'll see how he pans out this morning.
