Guest guest
I'm interested in that Monavie...I've heard about it off and on for a couple years now. I've tried many of the BFL recipes and some are just plain nasty!! I'm wondering if there might have been missing ingredients in the recipes...I found the BFL authorized banana bread to be so dense you couldn't even swallow a bite - and there was no sweetness to them at all. I've slso done some of the meal replacement bars that looked to die for when they were done...and they were so hideous, my girlfriend and I busted out laughing as soon as we attempted to take a bite. Here are some good ones that I recommend. or anyone else...please feel free to critique these recipes re. carb/protein allowance. Re. the cravings...one thing that helps me is drinking the chocolate protein drinks. Here is how I make them yummy: In blender: 1 scoop chocolate protein 1 cup water maybe 1/2 cup cottage cheese (that gives it the dairy flavor that I miss from not using milk) 1/2 banana 1 package nestle carb control sugar free hot chocolate lots of ice you can add peppermint or almond extract for extra flavor I usually drink half. Now....here is what I just made - I combined a couple BFL recipes: Chocolate Peanut Butter cheesecake pie low fat graham cracker crust Blend: choc. pudding (fat free, sugar free) 1 tbsp. natural peanut butter 1 tbsp Jif peanut butter (it just tastes better - and I used it instead of the butter the recipe called for) 2 scoops chocolate protein powder 1/2 c. skim milk 1/2 c. water I poured this in the crust and the crust was only 1/2 full...sooooooooooooooo...I added a " cheesecake " layer: Don't wash out blender, now add: 3/4 c. cottage cheese 6 oz. fat free cream cheese at room temperature 1/2 c. reduced fat sour cream 3 packets of splenda water to help it blend well 1 tbsp. vanilla fat free sugar free pudding (to help it set) Pour on top of the first layer and chill. I would assume this is 8 servings, and it would definately count as both carb and protein, so it would count as a meal. I also did chocolate balls the first four weeks and popped one in my mouth after every meal to satisfy that sweet tooth. I tried tweaking this recipe several times to add more protein to it and it never came up to par as the original. Here is the original with more carbs...with some of my changes - it's still good, but not quite as good as the original: Chocolate Balls: 1/3 cup oatbran (I actually use oat flour by blending oats - anyone know where to get oatbran?) 1/3 c. honey (I think this flavor is a little too strong, so I lessen it a bit) 1/2 c. natural peanut butter (or 1/4c yummy Jif and 1/4c. natural) 1/2 c. crushed nuts (as yummy as this is, I don't add it because it brings the calories too high - I will add Bran Buds, or maybe wheat germ for that crunch) 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa 1 c. powdered skim milk (this adds quite a bit of protein) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Mix together until combined - roll into balls, then roll into cocoa, crushed pecans or coconut (crushed pecans is my favorite and I don't add it in the balls so I can have it on the outside). It makes about 24 balls. 4 balls/serving I really enjoyed this with 1/2 a cut up banana, but that adds too many carbs - so if you do that, only eat 3 balls and add a little protein to your meal Have a great day! Webster www.michellebaileywebster.com Re: Craving Controll I felt the same way a few months ago. I have been drinking a health beverage that is 19 fruits and it has helped me with my cravings. I thought it was just lack of self control, but I don't believe that it is so much lack of self control anymore. Since I have been drinking this juice for the first time in my life I am having to make myself eat. It is curbing the cravings that I used to have. I drank 1 ounce of my Monavie juice this morning at it is noon and I am not hungry, (which I know is not good to keep my metabolism going) but try to drink my juice and then eat my six small meals a day every 2 to 3 hours. I then drink 1 ounce of my Monavie juice before I go to bed and I am sleeping better, have much more energy, and do not crave things like I used to. check it out at thegreatproduct.com/monaviemiracle gertha_schulze <no_reply > wrote: Hi there, I think I'm lacking self-control. This will be the 3rd time I've started the challenge and this time I will do it. BUT I have this tiny problem - I can't stop thinking about food, well not really food.. chocolates, chips etc. Will it be ok to take some ephidrine every second day or so? I am giving my all with the work-outs and then screw it up with cookies and other junk... i want to cry afterwards. Then also what are your thoughts om GAMA (Growth hormone)?
