Karyn Im so glad u went. I hope that this all shows up to be

nothing! A free MRI would be wonderful! I had to have one for my

sinus area and im sure it is going to be spendy even with insurance.

I hope u take today easy and careful when u work out! I hope u are

resting well and dont have anything really to do today but relax!

Hi Karyn,

I am glad you did go to the ER. I know that the lack of benefits sucks but it is

best to catch everything before it becomes a bigger issue. I am getting this

list via my hotmail account so there can be quite a delay at times.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

tonight

Hello all, Thanks for the advice, especially , your reply made me really

think about what I was doing, and I called my girlfriend and she drove me to the

nearest ER tonight. It is about 2:45 am and I got home a few minutes ago. The

Dr. there explained that he did not think I had a heart attack or a TIA

(ministroke). I really didn't have the symptoms for either. His concern was that

it was a slowly leaking aneurism, or the start of one. I had a CAT scan and it

came back negative for blood on the brain. I was given the option to have a

spinal tap, and declined it, after asking the Dr. about it and my friend who is

an MRI technician. They gave me percocet for the pain (still had a dull

throbbing ache in my forehead). I have a prescription for a migraine painkiller

as well. The Dr. told me to follow up with my GP and to have an MRI and MRA done

to see if I have the beginnings of an aneurism. Their other thought was that it

could be an 'atypical' migraine. I do suffer from migraines about once every

couple months, but this didn't feel anything like a usual migraine for me. So, I

am grateful to be alive and typing at this time, and able to update all of you.

I appreciate the advice from everyone who replied. I'll keep you posted on what

the MRI says (my girlfriend thinks she might be able to get me one free of

charge). That would be great, since my ER bill is probably going to be huge from

this. But, like Val said....debt trumps death every time. Karyn

I'm so glad you got checked out! It SCARES me when people post about having

chest pains or blindness an explosive skull-splitting headache while

exercising. I know we joke about throwing up lungs and stuff, but uh, if

anyone *actually* throws up a lung, get medical attention! That's my public

service announcement for today. :-)

I hope your further tests come out A-OK. :-)
