Guest guest
Hi Donna B., Yes, I always love chilli peppers..lol I have been eating them with my food all my life. It's supposed to be good for us, but one must like it of course. In Brazil we are used to eat them with our meal at young ages...lol Now, I am trying to understand your email, you suggested me to stop my herbal supplements? I am under a nutritionist instructions and I would not take anything that could cause drug interaction....I am very careful with this subject! In fact the only drug I was on was Clonazepam to help the tinnitus ( ringing in the ears). I am always talking to my GP and Nutritionist before taking anything NEW!!!! I do my research also ...It is very important to make a sure it is fine because even within herbs you still need to be very careful regarding dosage and interaction. In fact I do much prefere all the natural remedies than drugs of course, but this week I started to take Citalopram ...because of all the stress and anxiety lately, and I hope I won't be taking this drug for too long. My Gp suggested it for few months only for a fast relief! I wonder why you said that regarding this stuff and medication? Which one? Could not understand it..Sorry ...lol I would like to thank you very much for your concern in many ways, very kind of you Donna, but I am under professional supervision always! Have a Great Week and Take Care! Joana in London
Guest guest
Hi Gretchen, HI!!!! SO GREAT!!! Yes, it is so good to hear from you again lol Thanks so much for being here at all times really! Yes, I will have a look at those links you sent me later on for sure. Well, what can I say to you now ? It is not the hot flashes that I am worrying now really, I have been with those for more than 4 years, but the greatest problem is the lack of energy, stamina , depression and osteoporosis ... That is bad , bad! I have been taking Vit C and few more supplements too, taking Fosamax etc...but last year I could not go to the gym as much because of the depression and did not feel like to eat well either. Not appetite for food at all and the I have lost many kilos... Very bad I know, but that was the situation for me. When I was in Brazil my doctor told me that maybe it would be better to try those Bio identical hormones but here no one knows about it. I am waiting to go to the Menopause Clinic hopefully soon. The doctor told me also the hormone levels are far too low and for me do not take anti depressants at this time So, it is hard to know what to do really... In the morning I just don't find like to wake up of my bed and that is very bad! I realized that I can not be at my tip toes anymore and my hips are much worse because it hurts and when I walk my hips feels like being dislocated... Could be the weakness of the gluteus muscle too...I think? The caves muscles are shaking and I feel much harder to be in balance while standing up!!!! Sometimes feels like I am wobbleling around ...like a drunk person...hard to be standing up...still somehow! That also make me feel very low and upset in the morning ... Yes, I do need to do something because I am not well ... I need to feel better again. That happy feeling, Gretchen I need, and I don't have it now!!!! Well, next week hopefully I will start with the gym again please God!!! I will!!! So, I would love to thank you so much for all this help and support and I will look around for answers too. Have a nice day out there Gretchen, God Bless always. Jo in London
Guest guest
Okay, I'm a man, but Gretchen's point about Magnesium/Calcium combo, as well as good nutrition, is very important, particularly for those of us fussing with CMT. I also might add to get blood tested for food allergies - IgG - as some foods can unnecessarily aggravate our bodies in general. For example, I never knew that GLUTEN can cause peripheral neuropathy. So, if you're gluten sensitive, then .... I agree with you, Gretchen, ... you are 'hot'. lol ;-)
Guest guest
Hey : No, you weren't the only kid getting things thrown at you. My mom was big on cleaning closets during that time....she could really be wicked with a coat hanger! It's really a miracle that she didn't rip out one of our eyes or something. 'Course, to hear her tell it, she never went thru Menopause. OMG! Then what the H*!! was that???? I'm just now getting the night sweats and so far they aren't too bad. Since I'm always cold, I guess I won't mind too much to be hot for awhile. I'm not sure about hormone therapy though. There's just so many side affects, it might be the worse of two evils. in AR
Guest guest
Hi , I can relate to being young when mothers hit menopause. Since Mom had me when she was 43, when I was 10 and had my foot surgery, she was 53. Nothing got thrown, but there was some yelling, however, I suppose since I was a precocious and somewhat mischieveous, it seems I was in trouble alot - either that or what was really my brother's fault, turned out to be mine. The good news is Mom did not take any hormones, nor have I, and I believe both are the better for it. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been to raise a CMT child back in the 50's and 60's, so I give her tons of credit for the great job she did. Way before anyone's Civil Rights, let alone the inception of the ADA, Mom fought for me, I watched her closely and thus learned how to fight for myself when needed. ~ Gretchen
