HelloI know that if I lie in a certain way and have an arm outstretched, my cat will cuddle that arm. Perhaps you don't need to lift Felix but just allow Felix to find a way to cuddle you.I can't imagine what it's like to have Fibro, from what I understand, the nerves have just taken to firing at random. I know that there used to be a school experiment where by you touch something warm and something cold at the same time and you feel extreme heat or pain because both hot and cold nerves are firing. Perhaps they want you to stay away from ice because that just insures that the cold nerves are active and it then only takes the hot nerves randomly firing for there to be pain. Maybe adjusting your diet to get different ionic levels will help dampen out the nerves, maybe adjusting salt and potassium intake. It's something to look into, diet plays a big part in our health, perhaps it has an effect on Fibro. You may want to review both your diet and your meds with your Doctor cause perhaps some meds have a dampening effect and some will have a destabilizing effect on the random firings of your nerve endings. I can imagine meds like Welbutrin and Xanax having a destabilizing effect but a Doctor will be better able to guess which might do what.Regards, This morning I turned over this morning and hurt my neck and shoulder, this happened at 8 am its PM now and its still painful to move, the pain is making me feel very sick too, I took the strongest pain killers I have and this still hasn't work, the last time I had pain like this is when I dislocated my shoulder, its not dislocated but it is the same shoulder. I don't want to go to a & e today, I rather visit my doctor's surgery on Monday. I have tried heat on my shoulder and neck but its not working, because I have fibromyalgia the doctors have told me not to use ice but I'm so desperate to get rid of the pain I'm really thinking of ignoring that advice and using ice. any suggestions on getting rid of this terrible pain, I need to get the pain to go soon because Felix wants me to cuddle him and I can't even lift him up. love Mandy
