If you go to the bottom of that multi-challenge page, that's me. So, yes, it's entirely possible to lose lots of fat and get in good shape with this program. I staked my life on it about 3-1/2 years ago and I am ever so glad I did. It took about a year to lose the bulk of it, and I've been living the lifestyle the rest of the time. Guest guest
I still think it is the best book for pointing people in the right direction. I credit that book and this group for helping me. I feel like I'm finally on my way to figuring things out and learning what works for me! Have fun! Subject: New to Body for Life To: bodyforlifewomensclub2 Date: Wednesday, August 12, 2009, 2:55 PM Hi my name is Leisa. I am just getting things together for my first 12 week challenge. I'm 40 and 40 pounds over weight. I just started putting on a few extra pounds after each pregnancy and well with 9 pregnancies that's a lot of " extra " pounds. I really want a change in my eating as well as exercise regimen. I want to FEEL strong and healthy. I have been walking the past 4 months daily about 5 miles but I haven't had a lot of physical improvement ;0( I guess because my diet has not changed much.At least I've been getting some exercise in I won't be starting cold. I'm off to read frequently asked questions and I'll be back with mine if they are not answered there. I just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi! Guest guest
First let me say, good for you, and good luck. Don't limit yourself by thinking you have to eat traditional " breakfast " foods, either. Nothing wrong with a little chicken for breakfast. (Not so sure about fish)  Cottage cheese and fruit is a good, quick choice. Here are some other ideas.  Oatmeal with protein powder, with a little bit of peanut butter. It really can be good. Cook the oatmeal, let it cool for a minute or so before putting the powder in. Usually works better if you have a protein powder without thickeners.  A lot of people use protein smoothies, but I am the type that has to CHEW something. Meal replacement bars work.  Kashi makes a high protein cereal. The protein count is a little for a main meal, but better than skipping. Get the one that says High Protein & Fiber, not just Protein and Fiber. Needs a little sweetener.  Do you not eat eggs because of the taste, or because of allergies? If it's just the taste, try making a french toast batter with egg whites, protein powder, a little sweetener or sugar-free coffee syrup for an extra flavor. Also, the Body For Life pancakes made from cottage cheese, oatmeal & egg whites are pretty good, too.  Do you have the Eating for Life cookbook, or Tosca Reno's Eat Clean cookbooks? More ideas there, plus at the Body for Life website.
