Hi All

Life has been bit of a rollercoster for me, my crohn's medication was changed from ascol to Azathioprine 150mg. weekly blood tests for 8 weeks then every two months, but the pass 3 weeks they have had difficulty getting blood out of me, last wednesday the nurses tried then my gp tried first with butterfly needle in my hand that didn't work so she tried an atery in my arm that only gave her small amount of blood, the problem they have is they find a vein put the needle in the vein collapses on them, they think its going to get worse for me. three weeks ago i collapsed at the doctors surgery when my legs went totally numb this wasn't the first time my legs have gone numb but the first time my doctor had seen this happen so i'm now having to use a wheelchair when i'm out and about and when my back is hurting because sometimes this also causes me to get this strange numbness, i don't like using the wheelchair because it is very hard to push but i have found lots of people want to help by giving you a push specially up hill, at the moment the red cross have loaned me a chair and on friday this week my mother is going to buy me my own chair from www.betterlife.com who sell items to the public and the nhs so we are going to get the chair delivered next monday its going to be a nice red colour would of prefered blue but they are out of stock so the choice i have is red or black.

i start physio on thursday, i'm still waiting for endoscopy appointment to see why i keep choking on my medication and on certain foods, earlier today i actually choked on a glass of goat's milk.

i'm waiting to hear if i have lost my benefits or if i'm being transfered to the new benefit this stupid goverment has brought in, i may have to go for a medical if they decide i need a medical before their final decion.

i'm going to the london temple for 2 weeks best place for me to relax and charge the batteries before a round of hospital appoinments and doctors appointments home for a few days befor going up to blackpool for my dad's 75th birthday. bit nervous about both trips because i will be using the wheelchair for the first time on the train and taking luggage too.

though my health is getting worse and not better, i'm a lot better off than others specially my dear friend marjorie who is terminally ill with brain tumours and her family hasn't told her how ill she is.

i'm going to sign off now as i'm getting numbness again in my feet and it spreads slowly up the leg worse feeling is when the feeling starts to come back as it hurts worse than pins and needles.

take care

love

Mandy
